Car parks have sensors u know. If u don't believe me next time u enter a car park, use ur cash card to enter, not the IU. Insert the cash card at the machine, when u exit with the same cash card, u'll pay bike parking fees, not car fees. So what's ur theory behind that? The cash card got some made for bikes some made for cars ah?

 

Wow! I didn't know that! I thought the gantries detect the IU's ID to determine if the vehicle is a motorcycle or not. Thanks for the info. Very useful indeed .

Yes they have that thing to measure ur vehicle size. It's the long zebra crossing strip. So ur ERP theory won't work.

Just pay the few cents. Don't scrimp on the trivial fees and end up paying more.

did you write to the company managing the car park and inform them? if this is true, might as well insert cashcard when going to certain places where car parking is cheaper than bike?

Yeah. There's this section, Why Pay More, and then there's Legality & Regulations Related. So some of us, maybe including me if u see me as that, are trying to prevent the situation of our fellow bikers posting in the other section. Usually those who post there ask stuff like how much i have to pay for this fine, that fine, etc. So yes, most of ur would prefer not to pay for this **** that ****, but i'm sure nobody likes to pay for the consequences of certain legal actions.

If you think your obligation to pay stops after you pay for your bike, you are wrong. Road tax, insurance, parking, and now ERP. You can't escape from these costs.

 

I have a theory about the fines. Why $70 for no IU, $200 for illegal entry into ERP zones? I suspect that's because they are hard to catch. By setting the fines high (relative to the ERP charge), they don't have to catch you every time. Just once is enough. If you do it often, they will catch you. Keep that in mind when you try to game the system.

Identify ur budget. If u calculate and feel u cannot afford it, dun bust ur budget to buy it and maintain it.

 

The system is set so that law and order can be maintained.

This is not a problem. A normal car lot can hold 6 to 8 bicycles.

Haiyah not everyone ride because they cant afford a car like u.

and many people buy Wave, because many 1000cc bikes may be quite useless in Singapore other than for posing (and impressing chicks n young children, which many Man dun even need bike to do so).
