Hi,

Actually been leaning more towards comfort and economy. Certainly abit of power is good but storage not a major issue.

Since you once owned Tmax, sold it and again got a new. Care to share what this bike has that has taken a liking on you....:)

gonna revive this thread a bit..

bros here,

I'm about to get my class2, and Im considering about getting a bike like fazer1000, or getting a maxi-scooter..

Honestly, I like power, and I like to mod my bikes(but hopefully legal mods), so, any brothers here been through this kind of thinking?

reason I'm considering maxi-scooter is because, I used to own a GT200, and I do like the ease and the pickup alot.. but sold it off eventually cos of the top end can't satisfied me, and the stability isn't very good at high speed. I know some ppl say, ride vespa must go slow and relax... but well. I like to go faster la...

Also, I need to pillion my gf quite often, so, I thought maxi-scooter will be really comfortable for her compared to regular bikes..

She's sort of happy with the comfort of my super4 now.. but I'm just looking at options....

So, any opinions or suggestions of a maxi-scooter that can satisfy my need for power, comfort and modding?

I think you need 1 maxi-scoot that can out-run an S4... get the T-Max. Can mod too. http://www.daredreamer.sg/

go for T-Max. Seriously. It is a scooter but the handling and everything is like a bike. Can corner. Tried riding it a few times and I got addicted. Felt like riding more and more. I always tour with a T-Max and I have a hard time catching up with him, be it on the straight road or bends.

Big time regret getting a silverwing after riding a VTEC1 (no hazard lights, soft forks and shocks, battery getting weaker by the day, some say need to bring rectifier coil just to be safe if ride further up north) all just 4 months after buying it. Almost lost control of the scoot a few times riding in sg and touring. aiyah.. the list goes on and on.

but silverwing has its own advantages: storage and comfortable (weather protection and seats) and that's all!

Go for T-Max if you wanna have fun right after riding out of ur bikeshop. Got power, it brakes, it corners. and the final drive is different, heard it is combination of chain and belt.

Forgot to add: Silverwing is suffering alignment problem.

wow. this advice hit me right on the spot.......

almost wanna changed to swing 400 instead, but after more thoughts about it... yah.. I need a scooter that can perform like a bike, that can out-run s4....

thanks monoworld bro too.. I like the t-max appearance definitely.. but what about the burgman 650? i'm hearing raving reviews about it..

btw, i'm only gonna take my class 2 this July, so, better hang on with my s4 now.

Its a bigger cc touring scoot IMO. Dun tink can outgun a T-max from start. But mayb I am wrong. Probably Big Cow did it b4?

Reading more reviews.. especially this one interest me..

http://www.scootersales.com.au/News-169-suzuki-burgman-650-v-gilera-nexus-500-v-yamaha-t-max-500-v-piaggio-x9-500.aspx

seems like in terms of pick up, t-max is better, due to its lighter dry weight ba.

I agree bk are powerful.. hmmm. but I tot with scoot, its twist and go? so if on straights it is more of who dare blast throttle only ma? rider skills seems like only apply in corners...

Posted

ya,true,in corners..but can u handle it in the corners?straights not so much.twisting throttle also got technik leh bro..not 1 shot twist all the way max = to ur faster ma..

when i was riding my Burgman 650 K6, i've never really tested with a T-max before.

but ever tested pick up & top speed with a Super 4 V-tec 3. pick up tried 2 times with power mode & steptronic mode respectively, LOSE. also try top speed, still LOSE. not forgetting the burgman 650's final drive is Gears driven. thus many horses are lost. till now the fastest in pick up should stilll be the T-max. but change exhaust confirm even better.

I looked at more youtube videos... honestly, I dont dare to do those kneesliding and wheelie they did on the tmax.. Theres a video comparison of tmax vs sv650, but im sure I cant ride like any of those riders. :D no balls too.

but I'm quite convinced by tmax now. BK is too heavy for me.... so, I guess, yeah, I will go for tmax, and planning for Full System too.

Got one bro selling his tmax now, with LV FS.. so tempting, but I havent got my class2 yet. damn..

btw, for tmax, whats the difference between the EFI and carb model? also, if I were to buy a 2nd hand one, how to tell them apart?

Also.. how come no one here comment about the silverwing 600?

SW600 is really comfy... I rode to Penang and back and did not feel as tired as compared to my previous bike - BMW R1150R!!

The back rest and ample leg room makes it a miles whooper...

FC is average 20-21km/litre. For very high speed riding at 150-170km/hr, it drops to 17km/litre

Power is good for me.....low end pickup is good enuf though some forumers said it is lacking...

Storage underseat can fit 2 full face helmets.

i think if that s4 lup vtec race with u, i think for burgman probably abit hard to beat la. but, i'm sure, at 130kmh, the rider in the burgman is still feeling comfy, but the guy on the s4 is feeling strain on the neck and pain on the chest with wind blasting on it...

n thats y i wanna convert to maxi.. hee

i read somewhere, tmax windshield tend to warp abit over 120kmh? any rider experience? if so, possible to change the windshield?

n y do ppl say tmax dont do so well in wind protection? to me, the windshield quite big already leh. still not enuf meh?

also, comparing silverwing 600 and tmax, what are the kind of after market parts available? things like end can, full system, luggage racks, windshield, and maybe aftermarket seats like corbin and stuffs?

lastly, any bro intending to sell his swing600 or tmax end of this year? :D

i was in a dilemma when i wanted to buy a 2b bike.. was hunting for sym gts200.. realised it was too ex.. eventually bought a phantom. after that 2a also similiar problem.. my friend was asking me to buy majesty 250 or forza.. he will fully mod it for me then sell it to me earning a little bit only.. i ended up with a s4.. i might be a 250cc scoot for transport next time.. haha..

Carb model has slimmer rear rims/tyres.Single front disc brakes (most obvious).

There are after market options for windscreen change.higher touring screen or short sports screen.no,de screen will not warp if its original.just that if u stand ard 1.7m onwards most likely the wind will kena ur eyes/face.that is not comfy at all.worst case scenario at high speeds the tip of the screen will move a little bit.full throttle to malacca with ease.

Since there are so many good info abt scooters here, may I check with Swing 7777 abt the T Max's and Ard77 / Bigcow on B650s :

1) Belt change / Service intervals?

2) FCs (I know it is average 2-23litres and there are 3 modes for B650)

3) Common fault?

4) Difficulties in mounting top box.
