ARLO!

normally the rvfs we know can last 230km or so before switching to Reserve ( including mine) but that is oredy very jia-you accordin to a EX-Rvfian Marcng. Think his can tahan 280km?!?!?

anyhoo...the median value is 220 or thereabout. Your jets may have been changed before..do get the carbs stripped, checked and do a good service by a trusted mech.

Yr rvf when moving off...like bor lat if u shift at 4 or 5K rpm right?

Iz like that one. Because RVFs have taller 1st gears which means u need to DRAG the 1st gear to higher rpms for a fast pickup. Manuevering around tight carparks is generally done in 1st gear as opposed to other bikes' 2nd gear. Again...due to our tall 1st gearing.

Btw, recently got quite a few of fatal bike accidents.. and also its 7th month liao. Ride carefully guys. May the FORCE be with u.

yea... V Force!!

ride carefully and be less reckless. lez all take a step back and cool things down

whenever u feel stressed out, impatient or in a rush on the road.

Risking for that extra min or two is just not worth it. :offtopic:

RVF's restriction is called a speed restriction. Power( horsepower) is limited by a lot of factors namely your stock jets, stock airbox, the exhaust system. removing the speed restriction will not give u increase in HP.

rumours are widespread that "blackboxes" plugged in to the cdi or speedo can increase HP. IMO, this is not true. within the 'blackbox' namely M-MAX is nothing but a 1.5K ohm resistor and some simple wiring. All it does is bypass the speedo's speed restrictive circuit to fool the CDI not to cut off firing pulses to the 1 and 3rd cylinders whenever 180kmph is reached.

same for the HRC CDI. experiments by dyno on RVFs abroad shows that HRC CDI does not give increase in horsepower also. What it simply does is shift the rev-limits of the bike higher to 15000+rpm. unless ur bike is set up with race modifications, this HRC CDI is not very useful and you'll run the risk of blowing yr engine on stock parts.
