you mean previously bikes were ALLOWED INTO west mall????

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Pre-October 2008 yes we were more than happy to ride in and give their mall business.

We have recently changed our minds due to "unforseen circumstances"

yeah totally agree with u man.

and their parking charges are very reasonable. 1st 3 hrs free. after that its $1 per entry. so if you're there for a quick bite or to buy some little things... no need to worry. and if you're gonna be there for more than 3 hrs, fair enough pay $1.

the only thing lacking in IMM is a cinema

yeah IMM charges reasonably.. i cannot imagine those big bikes riders how.. esp if cars are lining up behind and the guard refuses to lift the gantry and allow you to u-turn..

its fine to pay to use a carpark. even if CP full, security guard tells u to park at opposite FREE carpark. but west mall security guard (the aunty one) will kpkb a lot... i mean... A LOT.

btw the carpark opposite JP is free??? i've seen vehicles there but i didnt its open to public as well.

walau bro pulsar ok for me to push but if u riding 1000cc,die sia jialat:angel:

FYI, no bikes allowed in West Mall fr 1 Oct onwards

My horibble experience tonight. I went into the parking and guess what, it's a slope down and I'm stuck halfway where they say no bikes allowed. Behind me was a car, guess what, he just looked at me. I asked him to pass n just allow me thru, he acted blur n shake his head. No choice, i sounded my horn, after a while, no response, i panicked n tried to force my way thru a bit. then a security appeared, i asked him to let me thur n i'll u-turn back out. guess what, he said no bikes allowed n asked me to reverse back, wtf, he thinks my bike got reverse gear?! BTW, i'm riding pulsar n i'm not mussle man to push it up a slope. i got down n tried to push with his help, then he said i should sit on top n push, wtf, it's up a slope mind u! well, at least i let him do most of the job. :p almost reaching the top, i told him there's no sign n he pointed me a notice on the centre, i mean wtf, only the red word "NOTICE" is viewable, the rest of the word r too small to read from afar. he's thinking everybody got hawk's eye. :giddy: i keep telling him that the sign or at least the cone should be place outside and before the slope. he keep insisting the sign at centre is enough. well whatever they wants and their screwed up management. :dot:

i wrote to west mall management right after i posted this thread, guess what, no reply. guess it's really down a black hole where nobody cares.

so far i never went there, any updates on how they placed the signs? i've should've been guai lan at that time n drop my bike on that stupid car, let the management pay for our damages... :cheeky:

anytime i go there soon, i'll try that stunt again if things remain same, go into slope n let them do all the work again, hehe. :cheeky:

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

a fellow forumer actually submitted my post to Stomp and it was published here.

http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/viewContent.jsp?id=39722

as usual the press sensationalise this and put in 'extras' which was not quoted from my post.

i did actually get a reply from the West Mall management after my feedback was sent in. it was to advise of nearby parking for bikes. so fellow bros/sis keep submitting the feedback in and let them know your thoughts.

please be civil about it though:thumb:

ok, i missed this email, the reply back as below.

Good morning,

Thank you for your email of 14 Oct 2008

We regret the inconvenience caused due to unavailability of motorcycle lots in our carpark.

Meanwhile we value your feedback and are pleased to inform you that we will putting up appropriate signage at carpark entrance in due course.

I sent this feedback on 24 Oct:

I observe with disappointment on your management's recent decision to deny entry to motorcycles. By doing so, the organisation is clearly sending out the signal that motorcyclists are not welcome to the mall. Are riders considered 2nd class citizens? Why the discrimination?

I am a manager in a big MNC, and also happen to own both cars and motorcycles. I sincerely look forward to feeback from your management why I am being discriminated based on my choice of vehicle. I have listed my real name and contact details. Looking forward to a fruitful discussion with the person in charge.

Thanks.

Got this reply today:

Thank you for your mail of 24 Oct 2008.

We regret the inconvenience caused due to the unavailability of motorcycle

lots.

You may wish to note that motorcycle parking is available at the HDB

multi-storey carpark located opposite West Mall.

Meanwhile we value your feedback and hope that you will continue to

patronize West Mall.

Going to send them a reply, asking them to explain why no bike lots. They have conveniently avoided answering my question.

dont worry about exiting 3hrs after u enter. i used to work at imm. everyday enter from front and exit from the back 10hrs later.

no sure if theres a difference, but i always enter via the left most barricade which states "season parking"

well actually IMM is a place that i wont mind paying that $1 for. cos i think it's really reasonable charges. like i said... it just lacks a cinema...

If it has a cinema... then it definitely beats west mall hands down.

i ever enter and exit from the front without cashcard. but it was within the first 3 hrs... hence no charges. so the barrier just opened :cheeky:
