Hi guys,

I am absolutely new to bikes.

I got my 2b license 2 weeks ago and i am planning to get a cheap and preowned roadbike.

My first viewing will be a Daelim Daystar 125 this weekend, its a FT plate.

mileage less than 30,000. C.O.E expires early 2011.

My questions are:

(1) what are the things that i need to look out for when i go down for the viewing?

(2) What questions to ask the seller?

(3) What are the procedures if i want to buy the bike?

(4) what happens if the coe expires, can i renew again?

(5) How do i maintain the bike, as in what parts needs to be change or check often, whats 2T or 4T, battery water, engine oil when to refuel???

Thanks in advance :p

hmm if you had decided, just need to get your insurance first, then head down to lta with the owner to do the transfer. Coe expire liao still can renew for the bike your looking at.

Daystar no need 2t, no coolant no worry hehe. Guess just lube the chain and pump tire weekly, and change eo every 3k, filter every 6k?

(5) parts, if you are travelling everyday, chain and sprocket change every 6months. use Heavyduty.

whereas for engine oil, spark plug & air filter, as a dispatch rider, i change every month.

and for battery, can go bike shop charge the batt. and battery recharges by itself when the bike is running. so if you press the horn and the sound like super weak like macham cnt scream, time to charge :D

all this based on my experience uh, been riding for 1 year. so any mistakes please correct me. thanks. haha.. :D
