then wun the FI light come on ? wun fuel consump increased???

it doesn't affect the FI cause it only increase the air intake volume, the FI will be able to compensate the imcrease with fuel adjustsments.

yep, fuel consumption will increase coz you'll become throttle happy and always want to blast the low end torque, hehehehe :thumb:

ibbster >>> removing the butterfly valves doesn't remove the speed restriction rite?

only improve the throttle respond in lower gear issit?

anyway i still encounter the backfiring...i check the ring but it's still intact...

i remember when i took out the tank...there is another hose to the airbox...

the airbox also can vibrate making the hose from the throttle body to loosen..

i think next week i take out and take some photos...

it doesn't remove the speed restriction but gives more throttle response, above 140kmh the engine accelerates smoother

650 bros, wat's yr average fuel consumption and how low did u try to go b4 refueling? the fuel gauge is very inaccurate.. it states in the manual that when there'e one bar left, there shld be another 4litres but b4 it's up, the gauge is blinking already..

my recent tank only manage to get 21km/l..

wa.. 21km/l is very gd le. my 1000 can only go 15-16km/l ...

Xanc, its ard tt range. Urs a K7? My K7 fuel mark comes out first then follow by last bar flickers. So far quite accurate.

Anyway.........just curious. What fuel you guys normally pump? I used to pump the Caltex "platinum"(or is it titanium?) one but I thought no point. Now I pump the Caltex Silver, but end of day I find that not much difference in milage/litre leh. Good fuel or bad fuel also same same one leh for Strom, so might as well pump cheaper fuel.......

byteblock: yeah, so im on the rite track.. tats y i chose the 650.. :D

guys, regarding petrol, check saturday's life section of the straits times.. they haf an extensive section on whther the urban myth abt higher octane = better quality..

basically it's found that most engine only require an octane of 92 so it's ok to pump a 95 which is already a level higher than 92 and not much diff even if u pump 98 or even higher..

Yupz.........we pump Rocket Fuel also cannot over take Blackbird/FJR those types.......haha

But Strommys are not meant for super top-speed, so those looking for REAL speed have got the wrong bike..........:thumb:

ahhhh yes, that's the butterfly valves aka secondary plates I've been talking about.

Careful if you want to take them out, best to use a magnetised screwdriver so those little screws don't fall into the intake valve.
