soulz... looks good.

Structurally will it be able to take hit for the complete product?

Holes for EO change maintainance?

Hi Anodise,

I cannot gurantee for that unless i put it on field test upon completion. But i intend to use a single piece 4mm aluminum for the entire structure with minimum welding to retain material and structure integrity. I am still comtemplating on the hole for EO change as it will seem messy as oil flow is not a consistent straight line and may result in oil splashing within the skidplate. But if i were to put in a bigger hole then the undercarriage will be subjected to penetration from the hole. Anyway the pictures i posted are my 2nd prototype only. i intend to extend the side covers to offer more protection to the oil cooler.

Good that we have people like TaNk3e and soulz who have the hands on DIY spirit and contacts for fabrication. Maybe 2 of you should meet up and share your designs and ideas on the skid plate. Rather than 2 of you do it independently and when you put it up on sale, there are 2 designs. ie TaNk3e receive 5 orders from us and soulz gets another 5 orders. All of us here like to bring the cost down with some economy of scale. One design, 10 pieces can help bring down overall production cost right?

HI Barracuda,

The production increase and cost decrease is definite. But i am not sure if i will be putting it into production.

HI Tank3E,

This is the the prototype of the skidplate that i am building for my V-strom. But i am still revising it to provide more cover for my oil coolers.

Hi Guys,

I'm writing this on behalf of Joe Mac who is going for his solo trip to Laos-Cambodia for a month. He be leaving SG this 25th November and back on the 25th December. He be visiting the villages to give a small contribution to the children over there.

He had created his own design of sticker to raise for his solo trip.

Each sticker will cost $5 in which $3 will go to purchase of stationary (A sml Notebook, Pencil, Eraser : All pack as 1 set).

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=181406

* The date on the actual sticker has change to 25th Nov-25th Dec instead due to his work commitment.

If anyone interested to contribute to fellow rider or for the sticker, please do contact him at 91005578. Each sticker cost $5.

Cheers!

Oil – this always brings up some interesting discussion (important but… big yawn) Don’t change it regularly and see what happens, but you probably should follow the manufacturer’s recommendation donchathink? One caveat: Suzuki only recommends an oil filter change every 3rd oil change & I personally think if you are changing the oil, change the oil filter too
