i think you juz tell them the truth ... but were u travelling fast???

if no... then tell them the truth that u weren't even speeding... then this jay walker juz dash out from no where didn't even check the road... when u saw him was already too late... hard braking also no use... wanna 'siam' also too late...

but dude... if u riding sports bike... dun think they'll believe u... there seems to be a stereo-type abt ppl who ride sports bike. TP will have the thinking that all sports bike will ride fast...

personally have been wrongly charged by TP for speeding along mandai rd too... was on the left lane with a lorry dashing pass me... then TP waved for me to stop. despite stopping less then 5M away from him, he can even say something like," maybe u slow down already." mind u i didn't even see the TP till he waved at me...

anyways... my case still appealling... u dun need to worry... juz tell them the truth... justice will prevail... hopefully...:thumb:

Don't worry to much. Just hope and pray that everything will turn out fine.

My friend is even worse off that you. He hit a pedestrian who died 2 hours later last April near buona vista. Apparently, the guy was jaywalking too. Case still under investigation.

Anyway, in a case like this, the jaywalker is definitley at fault and will take some of the blame. Jaywalking is an offence and pedastrians are only allowed to cross at marked crossings and are supposed to OBEY the lights. Crossing at any other place constitutes an offence. (Jaywalker).

Hope this makes you feel better.

there are also cases where a driver hit the jaywalker then she died... the driver was given a banned from driving for dunno how long.. the case happened at holland.. think some of u might have heard of this before.. usually in this kind of cases, the rider or driver are on the losing end.. unless got a third party witnese to proof that u are innocent

Dude, you probably won't like my reply but unless the jay walker darted out from between parked cars and was not visible at all, you are at fault. You were not practicing defensive driving. What if it had been a car that just "chiong out"? You'd be squashed.

oh my...its veri bad that the govt has a defensive riding course available and that justifies us riders being responsible when jay walkers cross into our paths.so why dun they have a defensive jay walking course to pedestrians?simply bu11 $hit.peds shld noe the complications the moment they jay walk.sighz. but still i will really practise defensive riding whenever i pass by school zones.children are exceptions to my ridiculous comments.too innocent to noe its wrong to jay walk.i think.

oh well,do update us one the outcome manz... :goodluck:

Hate to say this but if you kiss a human with your bike. Whether the human wrong or not, 80% of the time, you will be at fault. During court, they may suspend your licence for 1 yr and if its 1 yr, you will have to go "back to the drawing board" again. Speaking from personal experience.

Well.. hope u haven't hit an ang mo...

The penalties seems to be more harsh when u hit an ang mo.

Reminds of a past case when the driver kenna damn jialat when an ang mo jaywalked and gotten killed despite a red man blaring in his face.

I have a hard time believing this one. In Vietnam, yes. In Singapore... well, I think the law is applied very evenly... why would the value of life of a person be dependent upon skin color?

Would the ruling have been different if an Indian under the same circumstances?

The fundamental fact is that a great deal of Singapore drivers refuse to acknowledge the fact that a pedestrian is in a far weaker position that a 2000 kg cage, and they need to pound on cagers and bikers so they understand that pedestrians are always at a disadvantage.

one interesting fact i want to make.

all motorist needs a licence to drive/ride, right?

I mean we are authorise to operate a machine on the road, and bound by the rules of the road, right?

but all pedestrains dont need a license to walk, right?

Ya agreed with above, as long as U kiss a human who is not driving or riding, 80% of the fault will be with U for not looking out, I know a rider who was jailed for 1 wk for riding a Yamaha sportbike and breaking an old lady's leg when it was her who dash across the zebra crossing from the other end of the road. It was a few years ago. I reckon that sportsbike rider were being punished more severly as they are deem more dangerous. If you are sportsbike rider, pray hard the jaywalker does not have severe injury.

Life's never fair..Bangla wokers are most prone to getting hit..Why? You can spot them from a few metres away ..They look like they wanna cross but as you slow down..They do not cros..Not until you are very near to them they will start dashing across the road..I've experienced too much of this that everytime I see a bangla worker at the side of the road I slow down so much so almost like road hogging..But again safety first..

09/07/2009 - Passed 2B TP (10th attempt)

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..
