Anybody passed the Thai border recently? What was the opening hours?

I read 6 am to midnight Malaysian time but info was dated 2 years ago, is it still the same?

No changes an also find the right border,Sadao Border.

do avoid certain timings to hit the border though, the boundary post is clusterf@#ked at that time with tour buses. Just extracting the timings that i'm aware of, anyone knows of other timings please add on.

 

All times are in SGT (GMT +8)

 

Northbound: 0600-0900hrs, 1100-1300hrs

Southbound: 1230-1600hrs

Just back from Betong.

Jam at Thai customs. Was approached by a guy who claims to be able to hasten the passport and bike documentation process. Paid 10RM for him to do our bike, only end up with nothing except him telling the custom officers verbally that the bike belongs to us. Was then advised by a friendly Malaysian car driver that it was not safe as there are no records and exit might be a problem. So L L gotta go through the bike registration like Sadao customs which took only about 10 mins. So lesson learnt.

Book hotel in advance if visiting during weekends and PH. They can be fully booked and u will have to go back to MAS for accomodation.

Heard the security and process is slack there compared to Sadao...but dun wan to take chances....better go through the proper documentation.

If u follow them and anything happen then u become an illegal alien to TH, ur insurance also cannot cover... The kup kias most probably have no insurance to start with...

I so agree about the KupKia not having insurance and I feel that we cannot afford that.
