So the latest COE bidding got the lowest price in 3 years at $3.5k+. The PQP is at $5.5k+ for September 2017. Will the COE continue to go down or go back up?

ITS basically a marketing ploy where the new coe is attainable for people to buy new bikes but old bikes may not be able to be renewed as PQP is still high for certain people to renew unless they take loan. the floating number is around 5.5 to 6k. i suspect it will go up again just to ensure the 3months average will go to around the $5.5 for renewing coe of which many rider will be wandering to renew , scrapped or sell his 8, 9 years old bikes

As a rider, of course I hope it wont go up again.

I doubt the "big" event has any impact on coe bike pricing

Slide lower better.

I'm planning to extend the COE of my 19.75 year old Suzuki Impulse (by 5 years) and have been monitoring this since April.

April PQP was $7180, May PQP was $7045, June PQP was $6468, July PQP was $6059, Aug PQP is $5528

So I pay $2764 for extending 5 years. Almost $800 lesser than if I had renew in April.

But my window close at the end of September, I need to renew in October using the PQP from September.

Yamaha Power Valve, Suzuki scrambler, Honda Scrambler (1992 - 1998)

Suzuki Swift : 2001 - 2003

Honda City : 2003 - 2011

Honda Civic VTI : 2011 - 2015

Suzuki Impulse GSX400V 2014 - 2017, extend till Oct 2022 (Scrap in Nov 2020) 😢

Honda Vezel : 2015 - Nov 2025

My take is... It will go down this September 1st Bidding...2 reason.... The 6 months run from February COE available for big bike run out in August. The 2nd reason.. There was substantial "throw back /rejected COE bid unit at last 3 round and last but not least... The D cat no longer contribute to E open Cat.. So the total pool will start to climb.... Let see if my predictions is correct

Category Quota QP($)

A CAR UP TO 1600CC & 97KW 1,820 36,001

B CAR ABOVE 1600CC OR 97KW 1,290 49,000

C GOODS VEHICLE & BUS 453 43,002

D MOTORCYCLE 543 5,402

E OPEN-ALL EXCEPT MOTORCYCLE 543 48,005

WELL, my guess is correct AND IT further proofs to me that COE is not a free market but manipulation by certain parties
