yes, WAAS only available in N.America, BUT by disabling WAAS function in your gps, you will not be able to receive signals from EGNOS (europe), GAGAN (south asia) & MSAS (east asia) satellites as well, which provides the same function as WAAS. the choice is yours.

 

WAAS ... Wide Area Augmentation System

EGNOS ... European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service

GAGAN ... GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation

MSAS ... Multi-functional Satellite Augmentation System

 

 

The only hopeful one is MSAS as it covers east asia, but correction is available in Japan only for the moment as it's still in the stage of Initial Operating Capability as of 2007. Switching on your waas on your gpsr will in fact introduce more errors as your gpsr will think it's receiving corrected data from the dgps sat. If there's no ground correction stations it's best to switch off your waas in your gpsr.

once u own a GPS, you have the world at your finger tips. You can go anywhere you like without getting lost. :smile:

today we going exploring jb. Crossing tuas custom before 5.30pm & reaching Gelang Petah esso at 5.45pm. If u reach after 5.30pm, it'll be jam.

 

We'll explore the place below & makan somewhere nearby. Hope the sunset view below will be dazzling. Probably returning home by 8pm. Anyone interested can come along. :smile:

Heyos, GPS lovers.

I need a little assistance from you guys.

I recently had my speedo calibrated. But I wanna confirm whether its now accurate.

I would need someone to either pillon with a GPS or ride alongside me while I ride to determine my true speed according to the GPS, preferably pillon with me. Its recommended I use 100km/h.

Anyone can help? Free Ultimate Ice-blended Mocha drink on me....

nice to meet all the GPS lover here. i have recently found a complete thailand map from some source in cyber world. Donation of 50USD been given as a compensation for the guy's hard work. Would like to share this map with member that own GPS & intersted in this complete map. pls PM me to have more detail.

 

pls note that this map have already merge with Singapore & m'sia map & the total size is more then 140MB! & FYI, this map can't be find else where.
