Very easy to update the map. Just 5-10 mins only. Click, download, run and save it to your gps!

How good can the deal be if there is no local map support ? :angel:

 

MFM produces map only for two platforms, one for Garmin, and one for Papago.

 

If you are lucky, there could be third party software to convert MFM maps to be used in other platforms, such as the Magellan.

I managed to install Garmin Xt on my nokia E71.. anyone had tried ways to mount this on the bike? I am riding a maxi scoot so the handle bar is kinda different from the normal bike. I am thinking of securing a crystal case or like onto the handle bar, but am worried that it might give way and i will say byebye to my hp

i would think ram mount would have a solution for u.

 

both a case and an a adaptor for your handlebar.

 

check the screws and bolts every few so often for tightness.

 

if u go for long rides, eg. 6-7hrs at a stretch, i'll be more worried abt melting the internals of ph/gps.

 

it has happened to me on diff. bikes and makes of phones n gps.

n even a zumo.

Tried the Nokia E71 GPS updated to OVI maps for riding. Very accurate in pinpointing the turns and distance judgement. Using headphones to listen to the directions and it didn't get me lost. Just that the GPS signal got interrupted in the CTE tunnel. Now looking for a way to mount it and weather proof the E71 when mounted.

i am using garmin xt on my E71, tried similar method as well (juz use earphones). Does ur take a long time to lock on? it seems like it takes quite some time to lock on.. I am thinking of DIYing something to mount on my scooter as well
