The 'tok tok' sound when you go very slow or pushing your bike, Bull is correct, caused by the sprocket/chain worn out.

I had this before, very malu when you pushed your bike at 2nd Link and this 'tok tok' sound came out from your bike.

Changed sprockets and chain, sound gone.

yup...but also must check & replace the front spocket's lock-nut too!

good day, Bogs

i think that 'tok' sound could come from

1. the spocket(wearing off of the lock nut).

go & have a look in by a mech Bogs! or if u have a spanner box size 8, you can remove the drive spocket cover & foot pegs to see it for yourself!:thumb:

Hi xrjredbull,

i just changed the chain and sprocket set but the "tok" sound still there. It happens only sometimes and not everytime and only when moving off from 1st gear. Could it be problem with clutch or gear box?

Thanks,

bogs

if gearbox, u couldnt even change your gears, let alone moving off or accelerations...

u can still clutch in & out rite, so it could be something else?

have u not ask ur mech to have a look in?

i can still clutch in and out. also the "tok" sound will be gone after driving for a long time. then will come back after being parked for a long time. :faint:

anyway, i'll have my mechanic take a look at my clutch this saturday.

Thanks

The TOK sound comes from your Wheel Hub Bushing. Which could prob be wear off. Is in the hub where your rear sprocket is. If you wanna confirm, park your bike and hold your sprocket and try to drive your sprocket like a steering wheel you will feel that its like loose loose.

All we ever found was a manual for XJR1300. Nothing for the 400 one so far.

My XJR1300, I have always felt very rough.

Then I have "TOK" everytime I changed gear, up or down.

Went to 'famous' workshop at UBI, adviced was to change engine oil.

No change.

So tried Rosli workshop, changed some part at the clutch housing and also changed to this engine oil called Revtec.

Now everything very slick, and smooth.

Visit him and see whats his advice.

Cheers

For me it when neutral, engine tok tok quite loud. When cold start not so bad.

Maybe drop by Ah Chong to enquire.

$3.8k for FW plate is relatively cheap.

I got mine, an FV plate one at $3.5k last year.

Btw AwiE, don't mind me asking. But how does your XJR paintwork looks like?
