Actually the number plate was shown.

FW PLate. Assuming COE expiring in 2013.

It's the 2003 XJR model stated by the website.

Tnks for your opinions guys.

Here's how...one thing better for an 03 model to an 02 is the improved brakes..and try running the engine notice this:

listen to engine difference when clutch in n release,if release is more noisy it means the clutch housing is loose...but if slippage occur on rpm meter than its clutch plate..

the clutch housing noise is very common among almost all yamaha bikes 2a n above so no need to b kanchong..

so far its a good price amongst other shops..good enough atleast

about bike performance on tours i've just came back from 1 Day Trip 2 Genting n still no probs...but dont wish ull chatch the bigger bikes easily

Simply love this yammie of mine

hi guys!! i'm starting to take interest in the xjr400.. just wondering, hows the fc like??

it really depends on tires and how you ride

like me i ride on the higher side of the rpm on 120/60f & 160/60r and can atleast squeze about 380-400km/20L

if using 150/70r & 120/70 f i can get around 420-450km/20L

wellcom to the club

notice difference between 70 & 60...60 r made for racing in other words low profile tires..(better grip especially on rainy days)But 70 r high profile made for touring ,last longer and saves petrol...But petrol consumtion also affects when 1)adjusted to higher compression for performance 2)performance exhaust 3)bigger jeting kits...

all this are mods to make the bike perform better which affects pc on the higher side...

i see!! learnt something new! haha. anyway, i'm looking at s4, xjr and drz-sm. i know people always compare s4 and xjr, but i'm looking more at transport purposes, low maintenance cost, ease of maintenance and good Fc. so far, this wad i gathered:

s4:

4 plugs, 3 litres EO, require coolant, Fc ard 22-24 for spec1 and above (conservative riding) and 24-26 for VerS.

drz-sm:

1 plug, Fc ard 26.

xjr:

4 plugs, 2 litres EO, no coolant required, Fc ard 20.

the thing abt drz-sm is tat my partner does not like scramz and the pillion seat not very comfy on scramz. i'm quite interested in xjr due to the big tank and lower maintenance, but the fc seems to be slightly inferior compared to s4's (please correct me if i'm wrong!!). but factory fitted ohlin shocks is definitely a plus point!! hehe.

actually i would love to find out more abt the xjr from you guys, hopefully you all can help me!! if i missed out anything above, please enlighten me! thanks alot!!!

well if u ask me for bike with best pc i will say bajaj...almost 600km per full tank..but pickup power is compromised..

if great top speed is what you want from 400cc go 4 suzuki bandit

easy maintenance yamaha xjr

easy parts s4..but s4 parts some how r abit higher than xjr but easier to find..some parts like air filter , cheap original (italian)sprockets will be shared if you ask..because xjr is rare, some shop tend to cheat commuters unknowingly...pls do be careful...
