if ncd was affected, it would be the bike that was involved in the accident and not your new ride.

I disagree and disputed with them but the mitsui say it is okie, they will pay. This is under the co-sharing rule or something

When the accident happened at that time, I still does not have NCD yet as I extended the insurance to tie in with my road tax.

 

As such, I don't enjoy the discount and since the accident, I have traded in my bike for a scooter and have also change my insurance company.

Think I never updated this thread for awhile.

 

So just to close this thread.

 

My phantom repair cost is $2,500 and added on my other claim, came up to around $3,200. after haggling, it was settled at $2,800 or something. totally claimed from her insurance.

 

TP IO say that it is the woman fault and would recommend that she be deducted don't know how many point and until now I never even see the letter from TP.

 

Half a month later, I received a letter from my insurance saying that the lady driver insurance is claiming 10% of her repair cost, I told her that the IO say it is the lady fault and somemore I managed to make full claim from her side so why is she claimng from me and in such cases, is it admiting that I am partly a fault. The lady say no just that this is part of co-sharing of repair cost just that I am liable for only 10% and I would not be penalised for it. In anycase, I have already switch over to another insurance and have sold this bike.

 

Still I am wondering would I be penalised on my NCD

I also donno, but these are the damages, looks very minor but don't how the claim until so high....oh yeah, they change my whole front rim also

It is well known tat some bike shops will take chopper out when they do insurance claims. So they can earn more from insurance companies.

 

No wonder our premiums only go in one direction, UP

 

A very good example

My brother in law got into a accident recently. Car came out of parallel parking without checking and kiss my brother in law's bike which is on the main road.

My brother in law did an insurance claim on the driver. Damage is only 2nos of exhaust cover and one very small scratch on the side fairing. Bike shop assess and quote $600 for repairs ($400 for 2 exhaust plates and $200 for respray 1 piece of side fairing). Ridiculous price as 1 exhaust plate cost only around 100+/-. Respray also confirm less than $200.

 

Imagine if is walk in cases, not insurance claims, they dare to quote such pricing? I'm not convinced

Good thing you did not have to pay a single cent. I'm sure your NCD will not be affected as the insurance coy did tell you that you will not be penalized. It is quite rare that this kinda situation settles within a month. So to you, buddy.

u're smart got take picture. my friend got once bike kanna hit at petrol station,didnt take picture. ended up the person act blur and insurance company cant help and he didnt report police which later,'suck thumb'

Just received the letter from TP yesterday after close to one year.

 

The lady was fine $200 with 9 demerit points, think now should be back to 24 points already since that time, she was on probation, right guys ?
