"It somehows redirects the unused voltage back to the battery itself"...it does not do that. What it does is provide proper and efficient electrical loading to ur bike for performance wise..that's better power cranking during start and better sparking when ur magneto coil does not provide when at higher RPM for older bikes or car. All this works well if ur bike body resistance is low and can be done by doing proper grounding.

 

It does help extend battery life to a certain extend like 2 or so months more provided ur bike has good proper grounding..especially older bikes. his item has been called by many names like voltage stabilser, impedance stabilizer etc..by their manufacturer but in fact, it's actually a CCA booster unit (Cold Cranking Current - represent by "A" for amperes as in current). Basically they are made of assembly of "Super Capacitor"..and the better ones are the one that stores more current up to max of ur battery CCA itself.

I just got my bike VerS and during cold start there is this tick tick sound on the right side of the bike. Once the bike is heated up, there is no more tick tick sound. Any idea what went wrong?

 

Could it be sparkplug or CDI?

icic, roughly how often u service ur s4?

 

and does s4 requires washing of carb for the carb models?

 

i bring my bike for servicing every 5-7k mileage depending on the engine oil i'm using. yes requires washing as mentioned by jayz.

Hi all here. Need some advise on super4 versionS model.

Recently I bought a s4 verS. Everything is good. Changed the necessary wear and tear parts. However, was quite curious about the choke lever setting on the left handlebar side.

1. What does the Hi and Lo indicator means?

 

2. The thing is to start the bike at all conditions, choke must be set to Hi.

Hi mode: normal bike idling at ard 1000rpm. Bike start normally with little twist of throttle. But when I turn to,

Lo mode: bike rpm drops to zero. And bike dies instantly. Even when the bike had been warm up. At Lo mode, bike just won't start. Battery has been change new.

 

So I will need to keep the choke at Hi to start and travel ard. But rpm is normal at 1000.

So is it normal? or did the previous owner modify or bypass the manual choke or something?

 

Please advise.

Hi guys. Im currently facing problem of not being able to start my super4 spec2. 2 days ago i just changed my battery and few months back i already changed my starter carbon. When i turn on my bike. The light the meter all normal including my voltage which shows 12.8V+. I want to make sure what is the problem before heading down to the workshop to avoid being "ketok.. thanks in advanced

When u turn on the bike ignition, is there any light? Headlight, neutral, and when u press the start button, got cranking sound? Did u try to push start the bike?

 

Pls give more details of your problem

Hi there. Yes all the lights are normal. Everything is normal except when i press the electris start. No crankings. Its like the button is useless. No sound at all

hi guys, im considering to change to super 4 or not, but im not really sure about the maintenance. tried to check all over the forum, but cant really get the prices for everything, so here goes....

 

 

 

engine oil change is 3l, 3 bottles, (around $66?) unless im changing oil filter right?

 

1)how much is it to change oil filter?

2)how much is it to service the air filter?

3)how much does it cost to flush the coolant?

4)what is brake hose? & how much to change or whatever?

5)how much is it to change fork oil?

6)chain and sprocket change for s4 is about $180 am i right?

To get an idea about the cost, Browse tru the Advertiser board thread to see their "servicing package" by Various bike shop

 

All depends on the quality of the item/ the shop u went/ the brand n ect

Any idea if spec 3 cdi can be use on spec 1?

 

Nt possible as there is HISS on spec 3.

I donno if this has been posted before..

 

I turn my key to on and the headlights, neutral lights n pole lights were on.. when I push start, there was a soft click sound n everything went dead..

 

no lights no crank when I push start..

 

can someone advise on the problem I facing? I ride a spec 2..

Maybe u can check all your fuse in the fuse box

Hi S4 bros, kindly enlighten me with my issue. I just brought out a spec 3, its my 2nd S4 I've owned, and seems to be having some issue with my pick-ups. Its like choking getting to higher rpms. Very bobok. Secondly, when engine is idling, there seems to be a sudden surge & drop of rpm even without throttling. 1st to about 3rd gear very bobok, when reach higher gears, its seems the rpm can't be further raised, eventho I twist the throttle to almost full. Immediately i can sense that something, somewhere is not right. Kindly advise with your areas of expertise to gladly give a heads up of roughly what am i facing here. Thanks a lot bros.

is your choke off(Push in)? your idling very high? if choke on it will be very high if i didnt remember wrong.

high as in more den 2rpm

 

if not maybe need service your carb

 

just my guess =/

Hi all... I have a Spec3 reaching its 20000km servicing. so far for previous servicing i have done the following:

5000 - Change EO and oil filter

10000 - Change iridium spark plugs and EO and filter

15000 - Change EO and filter

 

Can anyone please advise what i should do for 20000 servicing?

Maybe ur engine got problem... another possibility is that one of the valve jam or breaks...
