Hi guys, seriously i'm pretty new here. Please share with me ur experience and give me some guides if possible =)

Well, to start off with, i've finally decided to choose to upgrade for super4 after 2 yrs of riding on a spark. Was considering to change to a phantom at first, but phantom got not enough power. Then i thought of cbr400 but i drop the whole idea, becoz my fren told me that cbr400 is pretty old and usually old bikes sure bound to have alot of 'unseen' problems in them.

So i decided to upgrade to a superfour, good FC and have enough power but which model to choose from??

I have spend days reading forum and some of the spec of Revo S4, well, indeed its the latest and really good bike, but the price is too high for me.

So i'm still pending on Spec I, II & III

I notice the 'security alarm' thing is installed in Spec II & III

And Spec III tail light is 'sharper' than Spec II

But beside these, what about the performance wise? FC? or any other differences between them??

Looking forward for some laojiao to share with me ur experience =)

To all nice peeks here,

Had been learning much reading from this thread, appreciated from the opinions n feedbacks from all. Keep up the good work.

My question - is it always this hot riding a S4? The hot air goes to the legs, i would assume it's from the engine or the 4 pipes below. If it's the norm, is there anything i can do to reduce this hot air?

Hot air is coming from the radiator fan, it clearly shows that your thermostat is working, check your coolant level and your radiator's condition to ensure an efficient cooling system.

[Q]Have anyone heard of 'heat wrap'? Saw a BlackBird that has this wrapping on all his pipes, he says its a heat wrap but didn't ask further cos he's in a hurry. Anyone to comment on this?

One other thing, when to change EO n spark plugs? The mech that changed my EO says 3000 but i read in SBF it's 5000. I am lost..... Pls advice.

Usually installed on Choppers or Cruisers, Exhaust Insulating Wrap is an innovative way to create more horsepower and reduce temperatures.Wrapping headers maintains hotter exhaust gases that exit the system faster through decreased density. Increased exhaust scavenging is produced, along with lower intake temperatures.

I usually do oilchange every 4000 km. or every 4 months which ever comes first.

This is normal to mostly all Super Fours, nothing to worry about.

Today when on my way to pump petrol, my S4 just gone dead abt 200 meters to petrol station. Knew tat my fuel was going empty but since there was still some left, i decided to try starting the bike. Managed to get it started n did struggled to the petrol station but all the while with a jerky effect. Thinking tat mayb its bcos of the little fuel left inside n should b ok after refueling. When i finished refueling n was moving off, the jerky effect still remained n sounded like a wrx during low rev

Knowing tat something must b wrong, i went straight to a bike shop. The mech told me tat mayb its bcos i spoiled my spark plugs as i stressed my S4 during the process to the petrol station. So all 4 spark plugs replaced but to no avail, the jerky effect during low rev was still there. The mech then told me tat my 2nd header of the 4 was not hot at all while the other 3 were when the bike started n mayb my 2nd plug head spoiled too. So my 2nd plug head was replaced too but problem still there. I was told to hv my carb washed n tuned to c how but as this would take at least 2 to 3 hrs, i told him tat i will go back on monday. The mech told me tat hopefully the bike can recover after carb washing n tuning. If not, i will hv to open up the engine block to check :faint:

Anyone encounter this problem too n can advice?

maybe you could check your plug cap, and check if there is spark from your 2nd plug when starting. but i guess the mech should had already checked those

hi all, does anyone experience this 'sinking' effect of the front suspension when position the bike upright ? (It does not rebound after it sinks down ) But when i forcefully test the suspension it compress and rebound like a normal suspension .

From a mechanic, it may be due to the eo level (spec 3) on problem of "ticking" noise. It will affect the vtec as well. The recommended top up level shld be :

3.5L if replacing oil filter.

3.2 - 3.3L w/o replacing oil filter.

Pls keep us posted after you ve tried it.

Hmmm....that's a lot of things done..you never knew actually what is wrong like this. Since u were running so low in fuel..rust and waste residue could have got into the carbs. Glad you have it solved.

so, anyone mind answering my doubts? does s4 break down easily? what is the commonbreakdown problem?

Hmmm...what do u mean by "easily" and "common breakdown"? All sort of vechicles at times breaks down one way or another. All I can say is that if you change your eo timely and keep the coolant system well maintain, all is well with this bike.:sian: May be just to make things a bit clear...I have ridden for three years trouble free except for wear and tear parts that needed to be changed.

On a PB1. If I'm thinking what you are thinking..it doesn't matter which model. The gees is that if you don't maintain well your ride, anything would happened. As far as S4 are concern, quality build are there but bare in mind that less electronic stuff, less problem.:sian:
