place the stand on the right side then push the bike up from the left..

alternatives like beer crates are just right for our bikes..

PI, agent, Alpina, Marchesini, etc all can use 160, 150 and 140..

but 160 high chance will rub chain.. but some install 160 never rub chain..

stock is 140.. why put 160 if you are not fully utilising the sides??

160 is more heavy.. 150 is just nice for DRZ, harder to find thou..

If your bike is under hire purchase the bike shop will not allow u to take 3rd party insurance, its not because of your age.

If you are looking for Pilot Power Ones in 160.. Abboy Motor Racing at Kallang Avenue Industrial Estate can get them for you.

I can never fully wear off the sides of a 160 no matter how fast and low I go on the tracks. A 160 tyre will not be the best fit for the stock 4.5 inch rim and the tyre profile becomes sharper instead of rounder. To scrub the tyres to the edge.. the bike has got to be lying down on its sides. The best tyre to fit is a 150... which will allow you to wear to the edges because its of its rounder profile.

And you are wearing the sides off on the public roads?? Thats a big no no.. not very smart thing to do. o_O

I don't think I have seen you at the tracks before.. or have I?

Im using conti sport attack.they have 150 rear.So far quite good for normal road usage.

Posted

yeah its great for normal road use.

I've used it before for road. Not that bad in the rain too.

But that on the track is NOT FUNNY. Even if u have titanium balls the size of bowling balls.

And i'm interested to bring it down to track one of these days.

Ya, I have Michelin Pilot Power One 2CT B compound 150 on my rear wheel now. My mechanic (Boy Johari) of Abboy Motor Racing got it for me.

A set of B compound 120 front and 150 rear will cost $450 (fitment included). These are really great track tyres.

There is also the Dunlop Alpha 10s which are available in 150. Great for transport but so so for track use... cannot push them really hard.

thanks for the recommendation buddy. yeah have tried both tyres on my k4 600 previously. loved the alpha 10's. Manage a do a wet session in PG with it brand new. Slow laps but still manage to finish both sides.

Didn't like the pilot powers that much but still its great. Maybe its not so good for the bigger cc's.

I am eyeing the power ones.. Sweet! but i think theres no 150 hence my many questions about fitting a 160.

Any known-sure-work configuration to fit it?

checking what options i have! :p
