nice one there..

the only downside for DRZ are the seats..

not sure if aftermarket seats will help as the issue is with the width of the seat..

planning for my solo trip end of the year too..

Sounds awesome! All the best for it! :)

My seat is actually quite thick and wide now thanx to Eugene but I'm not sure why I don't find it comfortable.. Perhaps it's cuz the wrap is the grippy racing kind? Not sure.. Will probably get something else done to it..

I ordered it direct from RV Aqualine.. Was about S$640 with shipping.. I think I might have seen some around Unique Motorsports.. You can also get them from Adventure on Wheels in Jurong West..

The longest I travelled on one tank was about 350KM at mainly highway speeds.. Topped up about 14L after that.. Stock carb and exhaust..

Thanks for the info raptor.

Btw has anyone here changed suspension before? Can advise pricings and where u got it.

Or has anyone here upgraded their stock shocks and forks?

Finally does anyone have any links to a spring rate calculator for ohlins?

My vapour meter is always on even after the engine is off, is it suppose to be that way?

your vapor is connected direct to battery..

to solve it, just connect it via ignition instead..

well, there are 3 ways to connect it,

1. Direct to battery.

vapor will automatically turn itself off after 20 seconds. this is ideal if u still want ur trip meter to stay. trip meter is the one you can reset as u like. odometer n clock still stays.

2. as bro john mentioned, connect it to ur ignition.

this will turn off once ur ignition is off. i'm not sure if the trip meter n clock stays or not.

3. by battery.

this will be like no. 1 but when the battery runs out, then everything reset except the odometer.

i've tried the 3rd connection but don't like it cos i like my trip meter to know measure my fuel consumption. so now i'm on no. 1.

I'll elborate on the Vapor connection..

1. Connect direct to battery:

Meter will stay lighted and on even thou you switch off your bike.

Meter will stay with full display and then auto off after 20mins (based on manual).

Backlight will be off also after the meter display go out..

But if your magnet is near the sensor, your Vapor display will stay on thru out..

Backlight will stay on during this time..

2. Connect to ignition:

Meter display will stay on (all off after 20mins) even when you off your bike,

but back light will be off immediately when you switch off the ignition..

If your magnet is near the sensor, your display will stay on thru out..

but your backlight will be off..

3. Using Vapor's inter batt:

Vapor will only stay lited as long as you are travelling but with only 10% of backlight.

same as all, the display will stay if the magnet is near sensor..

Connect to ignition will be the best choice, it will work exactly like your OEM one..

But you still can get reading if you push the bike..

The correct FCRMX3 kit for the DRZ comes with an adapter to screw into the inlet manifold of the block. The vacumn line from the fuel tank then goes to the inlet adapter. It used to be going to the stock carb.

If done this way... the fuel tap functions of ON and RES will function normally instead of having to put on PRI all the time.
