Hi everyone, I noticed there is a electric fan underneath my oil tank which attach to the heat sink. I have never seen it work--rotating even when I can feel the heat come up from in between my thigh while I am riding on the high way.

Strange, the bike is so hot and the fan is not rotating (when I parked my DRZ, I changed to neutral gear and observe the fan). The water LED didn't light up though so I assume the coolant is OK.

I just upgraded to the 2A bike so not used to the heat that DRZ generates....

if i remember correctly, the fan will start to work when the temperature hits 80-90 deg. something like that. what i can say is that the radiator cools quite efficiently. if u r still on stock coolant, i recommend u try engine ice. mine after changing so far it works quite well. while it's moving, normally it won't start. for me, what i did was, to leave it idle for sometime, n quite sometime too, then when the temperature is right, u will see it start....the engine materials dissipates heat quite well.....

Hi everyone, I am back from Melaka trip safely!!! a very meaningful trip indeed because it's my first time to ride a bike cover such long distance (500km round trip).

My speed is at about 110km/h and I topped up petrol every 120km.

We ate the famous Chicken Rice Ball at Melaca ! Parking is a bit toublesome as it's Sunday noon when we reach there. A lot of cubs parked in front of the 合计(He Ji) chicken rice ball restaurant.

I took biting_point's advice not bring my backpack and used a cargo net instead. It works well and saved a lot of hassle of carrying a bag on my back, it could be very uncomfortable.

Anyway thank you all for the advice and I hope I can join Friday gathering soon....

that's good bro. glad to hear you came back safe and sound. i guess now you get the feeling of long distance riding on the Zee. one thing i wld like to point out is, do not wear too much baggy attire when riding. the crosswinds on the highway is multiplied by so many times compared to when you ride on benjamin sheares bridge. furthermore with the Zee being a light bike. so take care of this n especially if you plan riding at night as the fog can be quite dangerous as well. good to ride together within some visible distance with each other so in any case one can look out for each other. that's what it's called a convoy, no point riding together but only meet at each checkpoint....:thumb:

hey guys..im thinkin of replacing my stock horn to a new one as it is semi spoilt now..but my main concern is, im worry it may kinda affect the electrical thingy?cus i wanna look for somethin a bit louder..anybody have any recommendation and where to do it? thanks!

pardon me for this noob question!

for me, i always make a point to change the horns for all my bikes. i usually chgd to stebel horns. more louder than stock ones. it comes in a pair so there are some wirings that is needed to be done to extend the power line to the other horn. it's sufficient n loud enough but sometimes your pipe can be much louder....hehehehe...so no need to announce your arrival already.

Konspire, you are correct indeed about the wind while I am riding a Zee on Maylasia High Way at Speed of 120kmh or above, especially after 4pm to 6pm when the wind is quite strong.

I am wearing a large size rain coat and I found wearing an elbow protector is quite useful as the wraps around your arm and the rain coat arm portion area become smaller. Anyway the wind gave me a lot of trouble as I tried hard to control the handlebar at 120kmh.

I am considering buying a better and formal motor bike jacket...maybe buying from this China Website could be a good deal.

BTW I bought an full face AGV K-3 Helmet at the cost of SGD350. It's light and I love it...

haha...yes, we must make known our presence to those other drivers cos not all drivers are riders as well....

i fixed them up at UM. I saw a new type one which is as flat as the ori horns but bigger in size n red hot chilli pepper colour...it's much better cos the older design, which looks like a horn or snail, is too bulging when fix but i'm not sure how it sounds. ask them to do a sound test for you then decide. cost wise i think nearly the same but i can't remember how much. they hv to add a relay as well....

yes, n that's only the wind from the front. the most is you'll feel tired by it when it tries to push you backwards. with our riding height, it will be quite a task to keep the bike stable. just remember, the stronger the wind, the slower u need to reduce your speed as there is no way we can fight the wind, even if u bent down. beware of the buses overtaking you as well, their passing wind can even shake a car, so imagine on our bikes.

if u keen on touring, best is to get the armour rain coat like rs taichi has cos this jacket can double as a rain coat on top of giving protection (which i had been eyeing on) n you can just buy a normal rain pants or the padded ones, whichever comes first. remember, safety first then style.......after that fun comes along....wakakakaka......:thumb:

what makes you decide to switch back to ACCT??

I can dig out mine and trade with you if you want..

your loss my gain..

where's your ACCT btw?

Posted

hmm probably my mind playin with me ba..as i somehow feel uneasy with the MCCT ba..my acct shld be somewhere magix but alr run for around 25k km alr so probably nt using back that even if i have it.

cus i read thru a few forums, read thru issue wif both mcct and acct but i think if really acct does fail so easily tons of drz would be gone alr..i have frens ridin e and s model for more than 5 years still with acct on, it still work great. Instead leakin oil frm mcct, improper tunin of mcct causing failure seems to be more common..

mayb because i just feel paranoid about this, cus im still schling and wrkin my hell for this bike, i just dun wish any major issue to occur.

I guess it's really preference..

if there's isnt enough statistics from TT to prove ACCT is a failure, SG may need some of these ACCT failures statistics to prove to new DRZ owners that MCCT is way to go..

MCCT is always described as a insurance to DRZ..

I run my DRZ at max rpms most of the time on the track and I practice and race my DRZ alot. My MCCT has been on the bike for the past 26,000km.

If there was no MCCT available, I would not dare race the bike... and you want to go back to ACCT?

Just because the mechanic is lousy at fitting and adjusting the product.. it does not mean that the product is bad.

i think before u do anything further, best is to visit bro raptor mechanic, abboy at kallang. go to him and consult him abt ur doubts. if any other person u hv doubts, he is the last person that you shld seek at least.....listen to him n then u decide......that's my 65 cents....

why the Vapor meter first??

was it a second hand or brand new..?

if the meter still good condition, dun need to change..

change/fix more important things first..

Check my FAQ for more info..
