Yesterday while ridding suddenly my bike engine stall in the middle of the road (while ridding the engine suddenly stop)...lucky there wasnt any vehilce....At first i thought there could be no more fuel as such i quickly turn to reserve. Today went to pump the fuel and found out that there is still enough for me to ride on more before turning to reserve....Just like to check with the senior rider out there. Is there anything like "engine cut" same as Honda Super 4 in DRZ...cos i travelling in a very high speed (about 125km) and high rpm from starting of TPE (CTE) all the way to Punggol exit. (testing the bike)....pls advise tks :)

hhmm...never heard abt DRZ being limited. i even heard our senior here ran it at 170kmh without cutoff. was ur rpm at the redline? maybe the seniors can give some light into it.

Don't really like that shop. Service is f**k up..!! Prefer asp***n. So far I got no issue with them. Any request made before e purchase they will fulfill if not u no need to pay for e down payment until they fulfill all e request made during e purchase process. My cousin brought a spec3 with them & e to do list is as long as 17 items to be change to new piece or to be done as requested, like changing e paintwork & a new set of headlight, throttle cable & 1 set of tyres. Their after sale service is way more better than b*** p********..!!! Maybe this can be a additional reference to your seaching & purchase of your Zee....:thumb:

The cut off if any... has nothing to do with speed. It is what they call a "rev limiter". That is to prevent you from over revving the bike regardless of what gear you are in.

The guy say he was travelling at a very high speed and high rpm... 125 kmh... on what gear?? What kind of sprocket setup has he got on? All these he never say... so we all can play the guessing game. Mebbe his back sprocket is 45T.

A stock sprocketed DRZ (15T/ 41T) can pull up to 100 KMH on 3rd gear, up to 130 KMH on 4th gear.

At PG... I am pulling the 3rd gear till 110 KMH before upshifting. 4th gear can go up till 140 KMH before upshifting.

Sometimes I really dun understand DRZ riders.. they put big sprockets coz they want power and pick up.. they complain about no top speed and bad consumption.

Don't they realise that they can never have both.

Got a question to ask all e senior & pros here. I just change my cam chain with asp**** because e bike is still under warranty by them but e mech there say ACCT is better than MCCT & I also don't wanna waste time explaining to him so I just ask him to fixed back e ACCT. Then I went to Unique to get my MCCT fixed. e mech there ask me how come I just change my cam chain but e MCCT still need to be tighten to e max. Is it e cam chain guide not properly installed when changing the cam chain or.......???? Need some help & answer on this. Really puzzled..!!!

I just overhauled my DRZ at Abboy Motor Racing (where else?). I have an MCCT on all the time. I had the cam chain replaced as it was stretched (MCCT screwed almost all the way in) since I spend alot time on the tracks. With the new cam chain in, the MCCT had to be backed out to almost 1.5 inch and it takes about 15,000 km of hard track riding for it to be screwed all the way in to take up the chain stretch.

So.. I can only deduce from what you are saying here is... looks like your cam chain is stretched. I have messed around with DRZs long enough to know what cam chain stretch is all about. And it is really not possible for the 2 guides to be not in... you will have loud metallic grinding noise everytime you rev the bike.

Disclaimer: What I said above is my own opinion from the info you have provided and from my own personal experience of working on DRZ engines at Abboy Motor Racing and in no way am I badmouthing any shop or individuals whatsoever.

HE got his cam chain changed by AS*****, he witnessed it..

however instead of MCCT, ACCT was replaced and MCCT was returned to him..

therefore he went Unique to install back the MCCT..

bike sounds normal, but the screw is all the way in..

either could be cam chain is not for DRZ (meaning longer than DRZ's) or chain guide not properly installed..?

Wow... that's very new to me then.

Its not a tough job to verify... can just remove the cam cover and take a look if the chain guides are properly installed.

for me, i've got experience on both shops, nearby each other as well. so far, not much hassle as well. but for me, i don't request much. what i see wrong is fixed, set the price, then off i go......no more connection.....hehehe........
