If the machine still going strong, I suggest forfeiting the 3 months and renew sooner. No way coe going to drop by the next adjustment.

what would you do with a balance 6mth coe bike? if i scrap now, how to i max out the value? assuming i strip dw the parts but if not i dun think there is any value. welcome advise . cheers

First of all, you can recover the remaining cash value of your COE if you intend to get another bike brand new (or 2nd hand bike with longer COE).

If your bike model is something that is common and still hot in demand, you can strip down the part and sell them part by part, rather than pushing it to the scrapyard which you will get almost nothing.

If you are having a Gen 2 phantom, let me know. Maybe we can work something out. I am intending to keep parts for use and if the price is right, I may even consider buying the whole bike from you.

last time coe cheap, not much residual coe bal left.

fren considering to "rent" it for the rest of itz useful left.

pm me and we take it offline

not sure abt gen 2. itz ta200 and yes the pipe is round not flat ta200. FY plate. ultra low mileage. for a almost 9.5yrs bike, itz only 52k.

very split over scraping it. of coz renew 5 yrs wld cost me 1.6+ but easily tong for next 5 yrs :)

PQP now for renewing COE is $3793...

How ridiculous can it get when the renewed COE is more than the same price of what I paid for my bike plus renew COE on Feb 2014?

WP asked a parliamentary question about whether gahmen can consider abolishing the COE for Class 2B bikes? Anyone want to guess what Lui Fuk Yew replied?

yes 4255. The LTAsg my transport app on Android can monitor current Pqp.

5 years if you need the transport and plan to scrap within one year and then recover the cash. It's like additional insurance to pay for.

That clearly shows coe bidding is manipulated by some parties. they know if more than 4k, people would not buy their bikes (first or second hand) and if less than 4k, they would lose out as many buyers are more adapt to looking for private buyers

I chit chat with a JB fren recently. We were talking about the natural resources Malaysia holds and those of Singapore. My fren said, "Although Malaysia has a lot of natural resources, the country's development cannot match up to Singapore - because Singapore has a lot of walking ATMs. Anytime the SG Garhmen runs out of money, just invent a piece of paper and call it a Certificate of Entitlement. Or invent a scheme to hold back people's money and call it CPF. Or build small shoe-size homes and implement a scheme call [Home ownership for everyone]"

I was like - *speechless.

Now is the grace period of "clearing the old emission standard bikes". About 2 months. Wait until early Dec to see if got drop ba.

The COE these few months probably will raise even higher than a few months ago due to the last minute rush.

We "paid" for it. Our ambulance can arrive within 10 minutes in an accident, theirs can or not... :p

Got pros and cons, no point arguing over it. Don't belittle yourself, we are not that bad.

Their country so much bigger. For our country, if traffic is clear, one end of the country to the other, Changi to Jurong, 1 hour can liao.

Their country Johor Bahru to Perlis 10 hours. How to compare.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.
