i'm new to scooters and thinking of getting the Tmax500 or sliverwing400, appreciate any advise and reply to the following questions,

 

New price of both model

which is the best shop to purchase

which bike can fit 2 helmets

Stability, FC, maintenance cost

 

Any other input will be great and thanks in advance for all replies.

your first criteria to fit 2 helmets...tmax is out already, it can only fit one full size helmet

in terms of maintenance, it should cost a little more than a normal 4 cylinder bike cause v belt and rollers will have to be change out quite often, like every 20k km...my tmax is not due for it yet but i think that should cost around $400

Tmax can only compare to the SW600 GT. Both new are about $18+ OTR.

Similar power but different riding styles and need. **SW400 is in a different class.

 

If want fun, get the Tmax. Limited storage but can be solved by adding a box (bike look not so fierce liao). A bit forward leaning in riding posture. Very good acceleration and balance. Nice suspension too.

 

If want smooth cruise for tour, get the SW600GT. Nice relax riding posture and lots of storage space. Don't expect to chase after those Runners.

Only Mah Pte Ltd have these.

 

If budget is a concern then no choice get the SW400 at $16++ OTR.

SW's 20k km servicing costs less than $400...

... original honda belt/rollers/u-clips + labor only about $200~$230 depending on where u go; do note that the belt can easily last >30k km if you don't "whack" the bike

... 2.2L (3 bottles) of engine oil cost depends on what u use

... honda original oil filter only about $15~$18

... final transmission oil uses the same 10w40 engine oil (remains from the 3rd bottle)

$15.5k OTR all in is a very attractive price cos BS's quote without COE & insurance is already $14.5k... latest COE abt $1,452 and insurance depends on what coverage & rider's profile.

 

did u check what the OTR includes/excludes and if any strings attached (terms n conditions)?

e.g. IU included? 3rd party only or 3PFT? minimum loan, admin fees, etc.

Haha haven't book la. My stupid 2a tp is end nov. Si be sian lor. Must wait so long. I also felt that it's too good to be true. BP quoted me 14800 no iu, no insurance the rest all in. Asp quoted 15500 all in except insurance. Plus I wanted silver and 400 now only has red white black.

I check with them last time the only have red and black... got silver one ??? I like silver one...

BP's OTR quote is always without IU

 

seems like machine price have dropped... see estimate pricing from BS below

 

btw, remember to ask whether the quote is for ABS or non-ABS versions of SW-T400 cos BS said they have brought in both, and also any other hidden costs

 

i happen to call BS to check some parts so took opportunity to get some info on the new SWT:

 

Silver Wing SW-T400... if i were to buy

+ machine price: $13,650

+ GST for machine: $955.50

+ COE: $1,300 (last result was $1,251)

+ insurance: $580 (comprehensive based on age >40, experience >15, 20% NCD)

+ road tax $55 or $110 (6 or 12 months)

+ registration fee $140

+ IU about $155.80 incl. GST & installation at Vicom

+ other fees (e.g. loan admin fee)

+ givi maxia basic top box & baseplate: $330

+ bid for registration plate: $1,500???

 

+ here + there comes to about $18.8k
