I think you fellas here should give me the benefit of the doubt that since I can manage to post coherent statements in this forum (unlike some people here), I should also have an IQ that is at least greater than that of an amoeba. Moreover, I have a couple of years of riding experience (and more than 7 years of driving experience) with varied bike and car models. Not that I think it is anything remarkable at all of course, but it's definitely enough evidence to assume that I am not a trash-talking 16 year old biker wannabe and I should know how to move off from a slope and how to change gears. Sigh.

Is it that hard to see the obvious?

Moving off in 1st gear from standstill is definitely not the same as travelling at 20km/h on 4th gear. There is greater inertia (look up your physics text) when you are at standstill and you are on 1st gear not 4th gear. Those are different circumstances.

In any case, if you failed to grasp my earlier remarks, I was making a point that with the stock RS 125 '06, with the low torque at low revs compared to say, the CBR 125 or the 4-stroke test center bikes, you need to be MUCH more attentive to feathering the clutch and throttle to get a high enough RPM for it to move off from standstill if you compare to other bikes. This issue is compounded when you have a pillion (ie, more weight = more inertia). Even more so if you are moving off up slope. Beginners might have a slight problem. This is simple enough to understand, no?

Haha... Most of the kids here only trash-talk, which is why I hardly waste my time trying to explain any sense here.

For bogginess, you can try dropping your idle, or pilot jet, or downsizing your atomizer. Try to compensate by leaning out your Air/Fuel mixture by lowering your needle jet too.

Please make the abovementioned adjustments in small increments and individually, not all at once. Test the bike's response following each change.

You can do a search on my posts. I've posted many gold nuggets of info for tuning over the last few years. Unfortunately, few have the IQ nor patience to read them. I foolishly post them anyway, cos it keeps my conscience clear. At least I don't withhold knowledge and people can't say I don't try to help.

Most RS125 riders have more money than sense, preferring to spend money (which doesnt guarantee a good job at the mech's) than to get their hands dirty for some basic DIY. Plenty of time to meet up and ride around, but never have time for tinkering. The ARC forum which had pictorial DIYs and all information for Aprilia was taken down due to poor local response. The only feedback we got were mostly from German, English, Greek and Spanish riders. Tough.

Just fyi, my 10 yr old bike runs a really lean mix, gets 30km/L of petrol, and still does a modest 2:06 at Pasir Gudang.

Also, contrary to common misconception, a "rich" or "lean" mixture refers to the Air to Fuel ratio, not the amount of 2T lubricant in the mixture.

Yes, you state the obvious. But not all can understand. Don't take offense at the lack of forum/social etiquette. They still have a long way to go, but they are good at heart and will be glad to help you to the best of their ability at the drop of a hat. Just give them a chance.

In case u miss out the previous post bro . . .

I am interested in the entire kickstarter assembly. Will be getting it as a temporary fix until I ship in my new engine. I hate the unreliable starter motor. Thanks for offering to check it out with Mah.

Just check today with Mah pte ltd, out of the whole assembly they only have the stupid kickstarter which cost $174 without gst . . . extimated cost for just the spare part alone for the kickstarter assembly is around 1000+ for around 10 over line items . . .

Btw, I'm not a goddamn automotive engineer or anything. I also don't usually DIY because I don't give a rat's arse about the idea of stripping down my ride. (I let the mechanic do it). But I understand enough of the underlying theory and have enough common sense to be able to state simple facts.

Yeah at the beginning I thought I was just stating some pretty non-controversial stuff for a poster who has yet to pass TP and who is asking for feedback on the RS 125 '06. It's pretty much un-arguable that we have significantly low torque at low revs with that bike (since there's only 125cc to play with and you aren't going to put all that power in the low-end for a supposed race replica are you?), but still... I guess I didn't know what I was getting into by posting here.

Anyway, are you Lawrence? Because I'm the fella who keeps making fun of the Horse-Puncher and it feels quite retarded replying to you in a forum.
