oh... yes, it WAS a stoppie, but i didn't end with a endo, that would be RIP liao loh. :faint: i was too shocked for words when it end with a stoppie as i wasn't expecting a bike like aprilia to do a stoppie, :giddy: that i just drop the bike on the right side, when the bike comes down. btw, i realise that most of the bike drop on the right side huh, judging from the scratches, dents & cracks from other bikes. for those bike fixed with a motovation, its always the right side being scrapped pretty badly huh?

any bro got second hand ....no money to buy first hand valve ..... any where can get cheap chaep.. i know WEIDA sell at $140... anywher sell cheaper....

any one want mass order..... really sian already....

why not get a valve that is much more difficult to break? it's made of a harder material but wat i can't recall now. it costs 180 bucks, but bad thing is the valve is heavier so it will only open much later maybe say 8-8.5k rpm. but then u got to fabricate and it will take a few days i think. if u interested, i'll ask my fren who used to own this type of valve. i forgot wat type of material man.. damn.. think its stainless steel.. not sure. i used it before.. gave me a ease of mind.. didn't break at all.. BUT valve open much later..

ARROWs are now being approved only for 4-stroke bikes.

Currently, the issue about 2-strokers and legalised Arrows is hanging in limbo because BikeTech21 is still apparently 'waiting' for its approval from LTA, which I can almost guarantee you all, WILL NOT BE COMING after all.

They've promised that since December last year, and everytime we ask BikeTech, we're given the same answer, "Dont worry, the approval is coming. It will be out next week." Its the same every week.

If you want an Arrow now, you can get it fixed at Ideal, who are currently the authorised dealers for Arrow parts. If you wish to wait for the Arrow approval, which is nothing more than a sad sliver of a pipe dream, feel free to do so. But you may never get to enjoy the lovely sound and incredible power of Arrow even until you get your Class 2 and can afford that YZF-R1.

xxes123,

You could try Ideal Motors. Look for the mechanic Ah Boon. He's very experienced with Aprilia. Many of our riders here take our bikes there to get it tuned and serviced. Your engine may not be burning right, which could, after a string of reactions and consequences, cause your valve to break.

Gucci,

Even with a stock powervalve, it opens at 8,000-8,500 rpm. The RAVE unit controls the opening of the powervalve, regardless of the material the powervalve is made of.

Anyone who tries to charge more than $180 for a powervalve by saying its made from other materials which make it harder to break is trying to rip you off. Be wary of such deals because it isnt easy to fabricate the powervalve due to the shape of the stem, where the cable sits. Titamium, stainless steel, etc... I've heard them all. But it doesnt really make a difference. Just get your burn right and your powervalve will have a long, healthy life.

denis,

I've done 2 unintended stoppies and both times, my rear wheel came back to the ground with my bike upright. Try not to shift your weight laterally (side to side) when you're into a stoppie.

Our bikes are designed to fall on its side with the clip-ons taking the brunt of the impact. When the bike falls onto its side, the fairing will be slightly in contact witht he ground, but its held up by our bar ends. This means that there is no need for us to install frame sliders on our bikes. Dont install frame sliders because:

1) There is nowhere on our frame to install frame sliders. To do so, you'll have to drill additional holes on its sides.

2) The frame is not designed to withstand a heavy lateral impact which installing a frame slider will cause. Our bikes have small, light engines, which allows the frame to be made thinner, lighter, yet within stress limits of speeds attainable with our engines.

3) With frame sliders, you take leverage off the stabilizers, which means the bike could now land on somewhere it wasnt design to land on. It might be a lot costlier to find out after installing your frame sliders and then dropping your bike.

OK people... All talk and no action and we'll become posers in the making. Lets meet up for a ride.

for ur info, my stock power valve opened at 7.8k rpm.

i'm just trying to point out that the aftermarket valve will DELAY ur speed surge.

different bikes have different valve timingss.

and the power valve that was aftermarket was indeed better in terms of durabillity. of coz i did not pay 180 for that.. i bought it 2nd hand from someone else. it really does last as some aprilians(who used it before) can vouch for me on that one. and after that my valve opened only slightly later at 8.5k. btw, if i do remember correctly, valve opening timings can be changed. regular servicing does help in maintaining the power valve but heck mine still broke despite cleaning it at least once a month.maybe i was unlucky?

also i am just giving an option to those ppl out there who are tired of getting their valves broken time n again. i do not make any money out of it. heck i dun even know which idiot does the aftermarket valve. haha. if anyone is interested then i'd glaadly give u the no of the guy who sold me his aftermarket valve and u can ask him where to purchase it yourself.

it isnt easy to fabricate the powervalve due to the shape of the stem---> true but money does everything.. hehe.. and for 180 i am pretty sure u can get one new one. (if the pricing is still the same)

a original powervalve costs 140 or 120?

alternatively u can go to those scrapyards and try to get a valve from one of the aprilias there.

Oh yes.... Doing a Stoppie on a Aprilia is much easier than most other bikes.

Landing is the most delicate portion of the whole procedure.

Aprilians,

I am back!!!

(extra info edited out)

I think Aprilia is evil and no one should buy them. Prillas should be bought only by nuthouses like us....

Ok, when you say nuthouse, do you mean you have the strong determination to learn the bike (i.e.: riding and also, inside out?) or are you saying that you are willing to spend money on to mod the bike to make it go faster?

Getting stumped on whether to settle for the SP or RS125...

Utopic:

There can only be one choice.

I'm selling a close friend my rs125 y2k for a 3-figure sum. Why? Not because she's a problematic ###### - the bike, i mean. (Don't let hear calling her that, she's a sensitive girl) ;p

Here's the reason: The first and only time i rode a SP, i felt like i was flying. But well, you might like the feeling of wobbling all over the place and throwing caution to the wind. Or maybe you enjoy cornering with a hell lot of power and no control.

Now read what lacri says about picking up a coin off the road while cornering on an Aprilia, the way the bike relates to your body, etc.

Discussion over. I rather sell my friend my rs125 so cheap it feels like giving it away, than seeing his brains splattered when he takes a crazy corner on a SP. No offence to SP riders. I'm just not as brave and as good a rider as you guys probably. ;p

Now Utopic, you decide. Do you want to ride a bike. Or do you want to ride an Aprilia?

Aith: Welcome welcome! Please get the tires changed fast! Or we'll hear lacri telling his story again. Looks like you got a lot of work to do, but no worries, the nice people here will gladly escort you to the workshop even.

And for crying out loud, take care riding without left mirror and right signal light!

All you Aprilians: So now we'll have lots and lots of outings and posts eh? *wink*
