Dun worry lah Edwin, it's just a casual outing anyway, and we may not do much, or any, riding. The Mah road show is open 10am to 10pm on Sat and Sun so you can always go later, or even tomorrow. And then there's always the Aprilia mito meetup on March 13, which will be big and have plenty of riding.

Just had an accident with a MaxiCab last night...

 

Dang... was cycling on my titanium bike some more. Thought I might break the carbon fibre spokes.

 

MaxiCab makes illegal U-turn from the same lane I'm cycling on. I'm going straight at abt 30kph. Cuts me off. I try to cut out from the right, hit the right side of the cab. Fell and scraped my right knee. Thankfully, just abrasions.

 

Cab just moves off.

Because I tensed up just before I hit (its been a year since I last cycled, and even longer since my last accident, reflexes rusty), got cramps in both calves. Couldnt stand, just lay on the road in pain. Managed to get a partial number (SHB 35** *), picked myself up, hobbled to my bike, chased the guy down.

 

He entered the airport cargo area, the one opposite tekong ferry terminal. Caught up, hit his window hard, dragged him out, and... Get this, in front of 3 police officers, yelled at the top of my voice, threatened to break his legs and beat the sh*t outta him, and tried to assault him. hahahhaahahahahaaaa..... Damn, gotta curb that temper of mine.

 

Anyway, still seeking a resolution, most prob i'll drop it. Got nothing more than a scraped knee and some scratches on my bike pedal. Besides, the cops were threatening to arrest me instead, for creating a big commotion, so I guess I ought to just fold.

 

Seeya guys at the Mah show, if I can cycle home in time. Am still in the East side, ard Pasir Ris area. With my knee like this now, I'd rather not be in Sentosa.... Sea water and open wounds dont go together.

damn... got something left in my eyelid for a couple of days & the irritation got worse last night... was referred to the A&E this noon... sorry guys couldn't join u guys to the Mah Road Show just now... hmmm... its not getting any better after the A&E, still feel the foreign object still in there, but it sure taught me better ride next time with a visor covered....

hmmm... cRaPPy are indeed an inconsideration bunchs. cutting and changing lanes without pior signal. i, myself have encounter a dozens...

wah...lacr, i thought u r fast on your bike, didn't know u r faster in bicycle too....catching up with the cRaPPy in mintues...

ahakzz... thanks to all who made it today. was nice to finally meet u people. hope to be able to make it more often. i know u guys feel weird with me riding a 1000, but hey in my heart still a die hard aprilian. now on a 1000, i doubt any bengs would wana chiet us like they always do when we meet up hehehe... lets see if they can even see my smoke.

 

on the other hand, letting go my aprilia due to work and other commitments. the new owner more than enthusiastic. hehe. but i'll be back with an aprilia dats for sure.

 

hmmm now me and ah guan can become safety bike and safety car on outings from now on. see if u guys can find the aprilia sticker on my bike. hehe

1)fuel intake

2)expected problems from Aprillia motorcycles

3)does it still use the big exhaust for class 2B aprillas

4)Is the suspension reliable?

haha know wat? i was at lau pa sat about to move off and there i saw this bugger on his fazer riding past alone. immediately recognised him and then he followed deltabox_V and a few others for 'riding' muwahaha...oh ya i met blacks a few days ago. he seems haggard man. sent his regards to u n hunter. btw.. this new fazer oni has 200 clicks so far. high time he started to roam ard more often.

Was nice meeting some of you guys at Holland V on Sat. The selection was definetly premium and I was drooling over the RSV Factory and the '05 CBR600RR. Am definetly going to get the 600 eventually.

 

Anyways, you guys are a great bunch to hang out with. My GF seems intent on getting a RS125, so she may join you guys sometime.

 

Lacri....don't worry lah bro...I always had issues with errant cab drivers who act totally blur when they are clearly in the wrong..funny how they even defend themselves and point the finger to you.

was at a motorshop last weekend, in came one couple and the gal was complaining about her rs125 y2k fs plater. seems like ALOT of problems man. haha.. in the end she traded it in for a repsol.

Hope some of the other guys have sent you some info but in case not, i hope this helps...

 

Most of the questions that you have asked are very dependant on the individual bike. That is not to say that aprilia bikes are all different in standard!

 

It's just that if you are looking at a second hand bike then you will come to find that people do many strange and wonderful things to their bikes. Changing your exhaust systems can increase your fuel consumption, as can porting your carbs or even things like having bad tuning...

 

Fuel

With regards to fuel consumption, it's always a trade off between opening up your high, mid or low end (power) versus how much fuel you guzzle.

 

Common Problems with this bike?

This bike is very, extremely, susceptible to infatuation, attention and is largely an addiction. Ask lacri...

 

Basically if you take the time to understand and care for your bike you are going to reap the rewards. All bikes suffer from wear and tear. Make sure you service it regularly and come down for plenty of diy sessions with us.

 

Big exhaust bikes!

By the big exhaust, i assume you are referring to the bane of aprilia's sleek contours... the milo kong... You will be happy to know that, '04 models onward come with the sleek, sexy, and very new rs stock pipe.

 

Furthermore, Arrow, which makes exhaust systems for 2 stroke (among other) bikes has legalised a road version for the RS125. (take note this might affect your fuel consumption and general road behaviour... you'll turn into a madman... sorry edwin... kidding)

 

Suspension

The current running joke is about the funny noises that some of our bikes have been making, speculation has been that it could be the rear suspension. But that's what you get if you pillion too many people!!! (Ahahaha ponytail!!) or if you do too many stopies!!

 

I know that my answers have been very generic but it would be much easier if you had a specific bike in mind. That way, you could jio some of the lau jiao's to view the bike with you and they might be able to give you a little more insight.
