Ha, you must be joking. That place is consistent in producing sub standard work without fail. Once a upon a time, they were good. Not anymore.

Not for the past few years. The best in my humble opinion is Replica Spray Painting. Located at Kallang Industrial Park. Ah koon does an awesome job.

Even Minerva send their bikes to sprayed there, enuff said. Exceptional work for a reasonable price given the quality.

my bike is a testiment to dat.

'BBK' in car terms actually mean Big Brake Kits.. Maybe it's better if you actually spelt it out?

btw there this RS125 malay guy who goes to 37 quite oftenly n who race in the 1st round,he is planning to do a weekday or saturday outing to PG for other RS125 riders,I feel its kind of him to organised such trip to give new trekkies a feel of circuit riding...

i do hope most of u guys will join...its a good time to really understand yr bike handling n capabilities ...this can be put to good use while riding on roads too..not about fast riding but defensive riding, how to have prescence of mind, quick thinking n reacting in emergency situations.

so far i think theres some RS riders going up with him..

cheers!!!

I'd have to agree. Ah Koon is the only guy in SG who actually sands off the previous coat/coats of paint to expose the original fairings, then spray a new coat on. Very meticulous and good quality.

For the price he quotes, its also a steal.

Most shops will quote slightly cheaper than Ah Koon's price but will simply coat over a new layer of paint. Just remember guys, every coat of paint and clear coat uses about 1 tin (close to half a litre) of paint. If your bike has been painted 3 times, you've got about 1 kg of extra paint sitting on your fairings.

Thanks for the second opinion.. I've always sent it to Yeow Motors for my spray painting works, and they haven't failed me so far. Of course, I usually give them at least a week from the time I dropoff the item to be sprayed, till collection. Always check the quality when collecting, and you can give them your feedback if the work is unsatisfactory. They will redo the work.

Does redo mean they strip the old paint off before respraying? Hard to ascertain without actually scraping a bit of your new paint off to check.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

the reeds improve throttle response. Some say it actually increases low end power abit, by personally i dun feel that. juz that the throttle is more responsive now.

This, along with an aftermarket pipe and a 34mm carb, is the most common mod u will see on an RS 125, and is probably almost all u can do to the bike to increase feel/power(strictly in terms of plug and play mods) which gives reasonable money spent to performance increase ratio.

if ur intd i haf a brand new set spare im looking to let go for $70. =)

i wont comment on leanness coz ive never personally experienced it. But if ur bike is running rich(at what ever throttle opening) ur throttle will feel heavy, ur bike will encounter a "bump" at a certain rpm(in relation to that throttle opening), and the bike will sputter in that rpm range(sound like machine gun firing). very similar to the common 5-6k rpm sputtering that many of our bikes encounter(prior to proper jetting). Once the bike overcomes that "bump" then it will continue to increase more smoothly. Thats about the most apparent signs(that i can think of based on experience) that indicates the mixture is rich.

Thank you very much, I thus conclude that I am running rich on tr flatspot between 6-7k rpm and when the valve opens which is about 8.1k rpm for me. To lean out my mixture I down/upsize my jet?

Hey tim I'm gonna do a respray for my bike to mend the broken fairings I have too. Maybe by this mth end or next mth. We can do it together.

Yes I think my bike is running rich too, got the machine gun feeling at certain rpm, quite piss.

generally if mixture is rich, u downsize. but thats nt the impt qn. the impt qn is WHAT do u downsize. for this u have to identify first at which throttle opening the bogging starts. frm there u can identify which component is causing the richness. i dont recommend guessing. take some tape and mark the throttle. this way u know for sure.

Hahaha it's not just a feel! It's really like a SAW firing with ear plugs on. Anyways regarding the flat spot on 6-7k does it have to do with the CDI?

I'm not sure if my bike, an '08 is the full power or restricted. Im probably gonna have to take a look when I can get to my bike. Read it up, something like the manufacturer plate along the right side of our fairing should give us a clue. RM for full power, RD for restricted

Bogging is always at the 1/2 to 3/5 throttle opening which is the jet needle, happens to be a clip there, I would go figure how it works but if you could give me a quick enlightenment?

I'm getting the 34mm slide, so I might just play with the tinong for the 28 abit, just to get a feel.

If you were to repaint your bike wouldn't that mean you have to discard your decal wrappings? We can try to strike a deal with replica if we want to repaint both our bikes

Tinong? Ya will be discarding my decals, not a very good idea to wrap the whole Fairing w stickers as it's not shiny and it'll somehow peel off after awhile. Just the design with stickers would be perfect.

lol. anw bro the cdi emmision dip affects the 5-6k rpm. Very easy to find out if u have a derestricted cdi or nt. Just take off ur pillion seat. theres 2 allen key screws for that. slide ur seat open and look at the back of the cdi. If it looks perfect means most prob it hasnt been moded. if it looks like someone has sealed it with silicon most prob its alr done.

If its not done, get a pen knife and cut out the silicon. on the bottom part of the cdi theres this toothpick like thingy. break the thing(juz ensure its not connected) then re-silicon the hole and ur good to go. but this dosent work on the piaggio cdi.

But if it isn't restricted to begin with, figures not to meddle with it.

Would a pen knife do the trick? Silicon seems too tough for a thin blade.

Anyways, where can I find a bottle of silicon paste to fill up the cut out material?

Tuning I meant, yeah I figured that one out so I never would agree with myself on a decal wrapping.

It most probably will not peel off quickly just from weather as it is a wrapping, but it will fade to a horrible state as compared to a paint job
