Hi all, how does a nicely tuned slow jet feel/sound like.

Did what I felt was the best setting earlier today.

With my rpm needle almost flat on the 1k mark, the needle is irresponsive sometimes during early revs.

Obtained better throttle response, a little turn will now push my rpm up by 1k more, as compared to earlier. I leaned out the mixture so much it doesn't stay alive without a hard rev on cold starts.

My earlier clutch issue with the engine stalling if I throw clutch too fast has been minimized if not eradicated.

It can barely handle half clutch moving now, always have to be on the throttle to move off, but I like the smoothness of the launch now.

bro if ur talking bout ur mixture setting, i found the best way to tune it is this.

1) warm up ur bike by riding it abit for say, 5-10min

2) put u bike on the stand while engine is running

3)get a nice long flat head screwdriver and turn ur screw all the way in, then one turn out.

4) now rev ur bike to around 4k rpm(this is just a gauge) and hold it dead still there. its important that the rpm is constantly at this position.

5) with the rpm at 4k, slowly turn open ur screw. u will see ur rpm rising a little, then it will come to a point where there will be a big jump in ur rpm.

6) close ur mixture screw and count how many turns, then open it back up one turn. repeat the above process at least one more time. u shud get similar results(with regards to number of turns) on subsequent attempts.

This, in my experience, is the best way to do it. I've personally have seen ah seng use this method(but i did not learn this from him). It takes practice, to keep ur throttle steady and coordinate the screw turns while keeping ur throttle still. Also, its more difficult to be done on the 28mm phbh carbs due to the position of the mixture screw. U might need to get the help of someone to open the throttle while u adjust the screw.

I've been waiting for someone to post this, and somehow I had an inkling that it would be you. :D

tempting ****! but cant buy now.:(

Found this on Ebay and since I'm buying other parts from the guy, he's willing to throw in this rear suspension for £150 before shipping.

Adding in taxes and shipping, total should be about S$380. This is a really good part from the RS125 SP (sport production), which features the kickstart, lightweight crank, lightweight crankcase, and lightweight rims, and other goodies limited to a production run of about 800 worldwide.

The SP model is unavailable here in SG. But I'm sure Bikelab is able to rebuild this.

Hey to those who wanna order aprilia original key, this is wat they reply...

Normally $40 is our minimum for International shipping, which covers you up to 2kg. It also covers the insurance, extra paperwork, risk, tracking number, etc. We 100% guarantee its safe arrival. Order more items to make it closer to 2Kg. Delivery is usually within 7 days.

For very small orders like yours, we can use a $20 method, no tracking number, no insurance, but we'll still guarantee its delivery, about a 7 day delivery.

The $20 option is not shown online because the $40 for 2kg option really is the best, fastest, most reliable method we have ever used. We've been shipping International for 9 years. Just add a few more items to the same order to make it more cost effective.

If you would like the $20 option, order the small item online normally, and in the order comments box put "please use $20 airmail method".

We will edit the price down before billing your credit card and ship the product out.

Thanks

Ed Cook

Larry, do you think Sporting can help me out with finding this gorgeous Metrakit Race radiator?

u know last week I was discussing with couple of mechanics who did up championship winning aprilias 125 n the topic of rads came about... I went to the net to search bu zero came up n then u posted that pix... Nice job, I will look out for that, I'm busy now recovering from the high speed crash (I have this knack for high speed crashes :X) n setting up my triumph for this Thursday testing at pg...

I do my reseArch now , need it too as couple of better riders on my ass for race 2)

btw my stupid mmechanic bike won the last aprilia cup race in sepang in 2008, so I bet he doesn't know much about aprilia , gues I really need some good advise from some self proclaim keyboard warrior guru here who incidentally have ZERO credentials..

Cheers

Actually I did my first DIY overhaul in 2005 in my void deck, way before I had my motorcycle workshop.

It took me over 12 gruelling hours and a few manuals but I did manage to get the bike running the next day.

I ran my bike in over 800km after that. Keep up the good advice, BOSS. It makes my life a whole lot easier having fellow riders with the knowledge sharing with one another.

I hope you can turn up for more DIYs so that more riders can learn from you. I don't have to keep explaining the same things over and over... :) I get tired of hearing myself after the hundredth time... :p

Learn from me?? Are you kidding?? Better not mate! :)

I'm not as patient as you, and I hate getting my hands dirty. :)

In any case, i rather not know too much. If YOU know alot, you're knowledgeable. If I know alot, it means I'm a KNOW IT ALL, according to some idiots atleast. :)

Advantage

King of 2b bikes( if tune and mod properly)

Looks of a big bike.

Big tyres = more stablebility.

FRIENDLY APRILIA RIDERS!

Disadvantage

Spare parts slightly more expensive compared to those kr and sp. But money will be well spent on this italian stallion!

Just my pt of view :)

Hahahaha Vik, I get dreams about revving my bike, sometimes I just get off my lazy ass to go down just to turn the throttle abit.

Oh then I go home and masturbate.

When the winds resist my impetus and sights become passing shadows. Every other sound is voided, all but the undeniable roar of my engine.

My physical vision recepts naught, but my mind is tranquil.
