Hi Aprilia Riders,

 

I just got my rs125 recently, and now I am facing a problem. When the problem occurs, it feels like there isnt enough power even if I push the whole of the first gear. And also when I hit 100km/h at either gear 4/5, I can feel that the speed starts decreasing. But this problem is on and off one. Today my friend was driving behind me and he saw sparks coming out of my exhaust pipe?!

 

Does anyone here face the same problem before and what could be the problem?

Can't tell whats wrong from what he says. This is a job for 37. Sparks lol. Might be nitro.

Is ur bike new or pre-owned?

 

If pre-owned then high chance ur exhaust is clogged up with carbon. Experienced the same prob with my older RS. Same symptoms as what u're experiencing. After svcing and tuning and de-carbonising the whole exhaust, all is well. Perhaps u might wanna try that dude.

It's not fire breathing if it's coming out from the exhaust. Mine will be fire farting exhaust!

 

If mine can't go as fast as u guys, I'll have to make it fiercer then u guys!

yes yes correct. if u see sparks coming out is probably coz the pipe is clogged up wif carbon. duno if u see hw they decarbonise a pipe before. The actually use a blowtorch and put it into the pipe. U'll see a sh*tload of sparks coming out, like fireworks. Quite an interesting sight actually. haha

I bought my giannelli fs from a ah seng last mth but he only gave me the lta approve letter for the previous bike. From wat I understand I need the exhaust cert from giannelli to go for inspection.

 

Any way I can get the cert?

Something is breaking up inside your cylinder. Check your spark plug. You might want to use one with a slightly higher heat rating, maybe a B95EGV or a B10EGV. I'm guessing you're on a 8.5 or 9 at the moment?

 

A close friend of mine experienced this too, I was behind him and saw sparks shooting out his exhaust. He's in Canada now so he hasn't replied my email abt the issue.

 

I forgot what was the problem behind it. At the moment, if it's just carbon in the exhaust it's a small matter. If it's the heat rating of the plug change it soon before you get pre-detonation.

i believe u got it from a used bike or izzit new?yes u need the manufacturer exos cert....n theres no going around it to get a cert....try ask seng n im sure he has his way...

scary to leave the bike n walk in to pay.

fellows hanging around the petrol kiosk looks

scary. so tot of getting theft alarm device. if can can a detector

Hi just to share a personal experience, when I had an alarm on my bike, it did not deter criminal activity.

 

My bike was constantly vandalised every few months, so I staked out for 2 weeks with a parang and steel pipe. No activity. So I decided to put an alarm.

 

2 months later, the vandal struck again, and he was pissed that my bike had an alarm, so instead of breaking things off and stealing parts, he simply pushed my bike over. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/lacrimosae/Aprilia/ApriliaFallen.jpg

 

My point is, an alarm does not deter criminals. It's good to have one, but don't be fooled by a false sense of security it lulls you into. Be vigilant and always expect the worst.

 

For the electrical wiring, best to let someone who's good in the electrical stuff do it. I'm only good with the mechanical; electrical = FAIL.

I dare not advise u here. U need to check out with whoever ur sending for rebore the required piston size. And umm, im pretty sure our RS 125 cylinder cannot be rebored. I think u mean replate or resleeve? In any case, u need to check with them whats the required piston size after the job is done. Btw the pistons have sizes 53.95-54.01, so its better to check out first which size u need.

Want to check with you, did you measure your cyclinder size yet? I know it's 53.98 for stock piston size. I watched ah seng work on a new model bike like yours last week. Chap came in to do a top job as his compression was low. When the piston was removed, i saw he had suffered a seizure before, but he didnt know it. His bike was running fine all the way. i assume his block was polished and Ah Seng fitted a 53.99 Wossner piston.

 

Are you getting your block polished? If so, wouldnt 53.98 be abit too small?

 

Also, Thanks alot for you help in advising me about the MO. I didnt know about extra bank charges etc. Last time i did the MO, i didnt take all this into consideration. I heard from another friend that UPS, DHL charge GST at 8% plus $20 handling charge as they pay for us 1st. Is this true? Hope you can clarify. Thanks!

Hi aprilian riders! I need help! Just change my main jet from 128 size to 130 size. Installed reed valve boyeson. Have cut away the 2 holes from airbox, remove sponge as well. Tuning done but don't know if set correctly. Before this, my speed has reach only 154km/h with the arrow pipe. And now that I have mention the above, my speed is still the same. Think I should be getting the speed of 160+ to 170 ??

I think the best way is to put a bike cover, secured it with flexible ropes and lock it. As the saying goes, before evil is committed, one's eyes must be filled with greed and lust.

Hey guys, I took a tat of 30 minutes out to read through the most recent pages and i'm totally lost in what you guys have been talking about. Am currently considering of getting a RS125 to take over my dads older bike of which i'm using right now. Not really into racing ATM but i'm really into the bike's looks and of course, the uniqueness of Aprilia and its heritage!

 

So any of you guys mind giving me a standpoint of why one should get an aprilia based on your experiences? Well, lets say im not really that into massive overhauls of parts and tip top speed for the time being

 

Also, anyone knows if the RS4 125 is already in singapore? If not, when? ^^
