Chong Aik I think is the official importer, but Regina stock them as well. You'll get a better deal at Regina but you'll have to put up with the busier shop environment (e.g. waiting for ages to get their attention, waiting even longer to try your size etc). But I'd say Regina will do something like $100 less than Chong Aik's price, so might be worth the trouble.

He seems very much like a big softie and I doubt he's ever lifted a finger to wipe his own ass in his life, much less pick up a wrench. I'm kinda regretting selling my dark princess to him but if he's got the moolah, hopefully he can afford the maintenance too. He's never even heard of this forum and seems very disinterested in learning more about the bike and joining this thread. Got a feeling he's only getting the bike for bragging rights... Oh well... Beggars can't be choosers and I am in need of money so I can't choose the next owner of my bike.

Speaking of gloves, i just got myself a pair of Fox Bomber gloves. Have to say its probably the best pair of gloves my hands ever got into. Definitely beats my Dainese leather gloves hands down. Feels like my hands are immersed in this awesome embrace, like putting my hands in a girls pan.... Ok im getting carried away. The gloves are white though, so I dont think its gona be my everyday gloves. Gona get a pair in black soon =D

Yo. I'm planning on doing a partial move end of this year (i.e. get most things back to NZ, but work intermittently in Singapore for a transition month or two). No specific date as yet because I have to sort out either a job transfer or look for a new job when I get back.

 

Oooo..track session with you? Sounds scary. But seriously, I'm not sure if I'll have time to track on my bike. I've got a guy who is convincing me that he's arranging a loan as we speak and will take the bike off my hands next week, and two other guys waiting to see what the first guy does! It might not be long before she is no longer mine....

 

I will have to drown my sorrow when I'm in NZ by getting a Ducati 848. Or perhaps the mythical and long-awaited 848 Streetfighter

I managed to DIY my carb-cleaning last weekend, finally managed to overcome my fear of the CARB

 

Anyway, it was more straight forward than I imagined. Didn't find any hassles, unlike when I first attempted to clean the powervalve (stuck because of gunk).

 

Adjusted the airscrew (-2 1/4 turns CCW - I think no need to adjust idle jet for now), and the needle clip 1 notch down (it was originally all the way on top), to try to get rid of that 1/4-1/2 throttle bogging... but still not completely eliminated. I will try to play with this adjustments 'til I find the best compromise.

 

Bike's running a 155 main jet, rarely go full throttle so no need to be investing in this yet unless I go to track soon (not in the near future, still missing some gears)

 

Biggest pain was re-installing the carb. That throttle spring makes it very difficult to put the cables back in. I think I should use a clip / zip tie next time to hold the springs down (read this tip form interweb).

 

BTW, how long does delivery take if you order from PJME? It's been 2 weeks now and the stuff I ordered haven't arrived yet

juz curious are u running a 28mm or 34mm carb? If its the latter, based on experience, increasing the needle height will get u nowhere in the quest to remove the 5-6k rpm bogging(assuming ur jets/needle/atomiser are all stock) 95% of my tuning problems is a result of the mixture being too rich. And from bikes i've meddled with(couple of other frens RS) richening the mixture makes the problem worse.

 

BTW, how long does delivery take if you order from PJME? It's been 2 weeks now and the stuff I ordered haven't arrived yet

 

Join the club. Me and vik ordered quite some time back, somewhere around late Jul. Vik ordered before me and he has yet to receive his order(last i checked with him was 2 days ago) Apparently PJME is currently short handed and they're taking forever nt just to process the orders, but also in replying emails.

will ur bike still be there after fasting month? Is there time for another track session before its gone? I hope the new owner takes good care of the bike. Would be sad to see such a fine speciment of an RS 125 bruised and battered in a years time when that dude decides to upgrade.

 

Anw, im already regretting getting the gloves in white. Barely 2 days and its already dirty! Ugh.

Guys i was just replying an email from Angela regarding my PJME order and I just remembered that some people have still have not gotten some items from my last order. I could go through my list but it would be easier if those who have yet to receive anything to inform me. Ive already requested for the items from Angela but shes taking an awful long time to get through so I think its safe to say we'll never see those items. Since its small items I'll save everyone the trouble and just foot the cost of the missing items. You converted which bike into a trike? Or did you buy one?

 

I think trikes are fun to ride but wouldn't the third wheel add a lot of additional mass and resistance? I'm sure cornering would be more stable but I doubt you'd be any faster. Why not stick to your 2-wheeled Triumph Daytona or your Aprilia RS125?
