oh..

just wanna share my experience just now..

exiting from PIE after sending GF home..

an ah beng sp alongside me and start playing music with his pipe..

oh..

and he alongside me on my leftside..

which i presume never see my 2 pipes sticking out on my right..

after we make the right turn another traffic light and he started playing music..

very loud..

very irritating..

so i join the orchestra..

:cheeky: :cheeky:

when green, pick up like crazy and after after 3 lamp post never see him..

then caught up in red light.

this time he alongside me on the rightside..

still play orchestra..

dun even bother joining..

stupid ah beng..

they got this mentality..

if they blow bigger cc bikes..

and we play with them..

they will say we bully small bikes..

if never play..

i think it goes somthing like this..

"got big bike no use.. scared to play with small bike.. throw away better."

so i just dun bother anymore..

Tell me about it bro - money always no enough, hah! SMX3 for about $300 sounds perfectly reasonable to me, especially since online stores like kneedraggers are selling them for US$125 (S$365) excluding shipping. I say go for it man.

yeah man..

but problem is..

derrick from regina not aorund..

apparently the 2 brothers father passed away..

and i think they won't be around for 1 - 2 weeks..??

usually i like to deal with derrick..

at least ur armoured jacket is A*...

mine is komine..

bought it cheap cheap at $450 from motorworld..

That's some weird crap man. If he thought you were a 125, can still sort of understand. On your right side, see your twin stack, still dare to make noise... stupid or what?! :giddy: You've definitely got the right idea in not wasting your time and energy.

Heh. U beat me to posting this.

T3, watch out!! After a high speed T2, you better be on the brakes or the tight left hander will catch you totally off guard.

Note that the last time I went, which is end April, there were two patches near the center of the tarmac right after the apex. Now... I dunno how smooth those patches are, I chose to avoid them. Friends said they were OK, but I'm not taking chances. Just be mindful of it. It's right on the exit line, especially if you're powering out.

T5, watch for the two streaks of yellow paint cutting diagonally across the track. I dunno how slippery they are... or not, but again... I'm not taking chances going over them in a bank.

After T8, it's an upwards slope. Begin your braking, or throttle shut, before the crest. Power on over that crest, and you'll be in for a rude shock as you come right over it and see less than 50m to a 90 deg T9 right hander.

A lot of ppl go into the gravel because of this. My friend highsided here in March.

Other things which I have noticed. T6, right sweeper. There's a shiny yellowish patch, which is probably nothing (but it looks like old dried up oil to me), but just worth taking note of. U can use it as a Reference Point. Basically it marks the apex for me, so I go inside of it, but never over it... just in case.

Watch out for monitor lizards on the straights between T2 and T3, and also T5 and T6. Seems to be a common occurance for me... :p

Why do say that? Is it because they're the manufacturer so they should know what they're talking about when it comes to carburetion? Sorry if this is very obvious but I'm really shagged, yet still want to discuss.

I'm looking forward to finding out how your bike runs when you move slightly rich. What's your carburetion like now?

Not saying that manufacturer will always say the correct thing. For me, currently i got no valve, prior to my bike being tuned by ah boon, it was running lean. And I dint know anything abt that till i started reading.

And like Dell'Orto mentioned, fresh charge get lost at my "opened-valve". The bike simply cant perform. But once Ah boon tune it richer, the problem went away. And this is enough proof for me that there is at least some truth to the documents by Dell'Orto.:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

And of coz right now, I am running very rich. I only average something like 16km/L. I need to run rich to overcome the 4000-6000rpm range (lack of mid-range due to the "opened-valve".

Of coz i dun mind discussing, but for me, i try to discuss on topics that I have done research and verified it as I dun want to mislead anyone. The internet and forums have aleady opened the floodgate to so much wrong info and i dun think i want to be part of that.

hmm..some questions:

1. Why are there 'power valves' in 2 strokes? I mean, why restrict it at low RPM? Is it even considered restricting?

2. There is no danger of running rich, but dangerous to run lean. However, I always tot the best response (not power) occurs when you're running at the edge of the dangerous lean mixture line...as this is where AFR is just right. At least for initial - 75% of the throttle. Thus, you would tune a 2 stroke racer differently to a 2 stroke dirt bike?

3. Running rich also have the advantage of not going into the lean ratio during different RPM and temp, setting etc, right? But the down side, besides fouled plugs, is the higher consumption?

4. change of exhaust, open pod filters etc will all require rejetting. true?

y do u disagree? aiya i lost my dyno graph or else can show u the air fuel ratio through the revs:mad:

I think that figure is rather rich.

The leaner the figures go, the more pwr is produced, of course till a certain extent.

But you can only go so lean before there are heat issues and the premature combustion in the cylinders i.e. pinging.

My dyno graphs have lead to figures of up to just under 15 before I had to stop the run.

In my opinion, anything above that is dangerously lean.

But please take into account that my figures do not come from 2 stroke engines & are from actual dyno tuning sessions and pwr runs on Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer, MDX Dyno, in shootout mode.

I find that in most cases, tuning for max performance usually involves leaning out the mixtures. If you want the full story I will tell it in person, its 1230am and I wana go home!

Irrespective whether its a 4,6,8 or even 12 cylinder, single, twin or quad overhead cam engine running 92,95,98 octane or even Av-gas, when the airfuel, ignition maps are plotted to perfection, they all have one thing in common.

The exhaust has this very distinct sweet smell to it.

New engines do not produce this smell, only very performance tuned ones.

Smell it once & you will remember it for life.

More another time..............

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

not really leaner more power... response is better but power not so good in the highs... too rich throttle respone no good also, cos when suddenly full throttle it will have a power lag... must be just the right ratio... i like my plug to be meduim tanned... thats where more torque and right throttle respone in track... if going for top speed richer by one two size also nevermind... no need throttle respone cos all the way wide open

1. becos the valves actually cos a different exhaust port timing... when it is closed will give low and mid range more ridiablilty

2. from wat u say is quite right.... in the case of track riding when u need to comprimise respones and power...

3. u said it

4. true...

Got lost reading all this air/petrol mixture thing. Could only grasp 70 % of what you guys said.Need enlightenment.

Anyway, do anyone have a 34mm carb kit & manifold to sell me be it Dell Orto or Kaein.

Always be prepared.
