Solve the 2T problem before worrying about anything else. But Vik, to be frank, with the condition your engine's in, you're better off not trying to open your valve at all, and just cruise around town. You're trying to make your engine last till the end of the year, remember? Gentle's the way.

Step by step - start with the simplest diagnoses first. When did you change gear oil? If it's longer than 2 weeks ago, change your gear oil again and see if the problem crops up. If it still does, get your clutch system checked. If that's still not the problem, get your gearbox dismantled and checked. Pay special attention to how your gearbox behaves from now on - when does it get stiff, does changing gear oil ever improve the shifting (it shouldn't if you change your gear oil often enough), etc.

Latest Update after oil change and 2T adjustment at NTrust

 

Before (Last 3 tanks)

 

FC=24.12km/L

FC=26.35km/l

FC=26.41km/l

 

Now

 

FC=29.181km/l

 

The same petrol is used through out. Shell 98

 

Coolant temp has dropped a few degrees, 2T drip coming to an halt, less smoke from the exhaust, bike starts up every morning upon first touch. Life is beautiful...............

guys guys...

 

anyone wanna come out for supper later on??

 

Later on, I'm gonna service my bike together with Fibre..

we'll most probably be finishing ard midnight and will wanna go for supper.. anyone interested??

The secret I think is my relaxed riding style and that I took care especially during the running in period, which is very impt.

 

Always warmed up before riding, never over rev, serviced regularly.

 

Works with cars, now I know it works on bikes as well.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

 

Others think for themselves.

 

They go their own way.

oh well... but then i will be able to find out too... your FC is based on the full 13.5litres? or without reserve? i think mus be the first la.....without is quite kua zhang.. :giddy:

guys confirmed sayonara my valve.. 1 prob solved now left wif 1 more.. wads wrong wif my gearbox ?? hah.. changing gear oil soon to check it out n my fuel consumption went up up up. to 13km/l woot i gotta be hungrier den all the 250s out there..

Managed to sold my gloves away, this time must make sure buy the correct size. Chris, how much does the A* cost? I need one that can protect my hand while on track.

ya loh saddening.. i took it out yest.. den i cleaned it b4 putting back in sprayed wif wd40 den autosol it.. place it back in it was working the next morning all the way to sch.. den on way home halfway valve suddenly non responsive opened it up juz now.. its broken =((

alex, i need your big help.. i just changed my fork.. and it's damn hard.. can you advise me whether is there anything i shud look out if it's gonna be used for road riding.. damping very little... i am using 20w oil.. the capacity is more of less according to the manual..

 

another problem is.. after fixing the back front wheel.. the brake grinds the brake disc.. thou wheel spins very smoothly, constantly givin little 'screeching' sound.. do you think it's ok?? i'd tried adjusting the rod.. but to no avail..

hey Edwin, need to check with you regarding insurance issues.

 

heard that now if i add sub rider to my dad(main rider)...need to pay my insurance?

 

i am now currently under NTUC... can you clear this doubt of mine? if yes...any other alternatives? :confused:

 

or anyone who knows too?

I agree bro.. Just praying my engine can take it till end of the year when i do my overhaul.. Hopefully my 2T problem can get solved soon..

this is what happens when you buy a 2nd hand bike.. I was kinda expecting this.. That's why i'm planning to slowly change all the parts of my bike and upgrade it.. My projected overhaul is in Dec.. Anyway, i dont ever intend to sell my bike so to me, it's worth it.. I rather spend the money on mantaining it well then having more problems in the future..

Bro,

 

the bike is in your Dad's name right? So every year he/you pay the insurance that is required for him.. Should be about 300plus if i'm not wrong assuming your Dad is riding for damn long.. All you have to do now is pay 25-35 dollars to add yourself as sub rider.. It's a one-off thing..
