I spent almost $900 on my full (top and bottom end) overhaul which included a 2nd hand block (pollished).

BTW: Get it fixed SOON before the conrod completely fails and causes more damage! (like your piston/rings/block)

Nah, thankfully not. He's alive and well and I just had coffee with him on Wed night. :-)

 

Very sad about his friend though.

 

On another note... I just took my KTM down to drop it off for the motard wheel fitting and picked up my RS125 (sidestand not yet altered) and rode it back to Yishun.

I have to say that's it's so nice to ride now.

When I picked it up after the overhaul the shock was blown so it felt crap. Now it's nice again and the change to the exhuast makes me feel more comfortable when riding, less paranoid.

Ah, I see that's perfectly understandable. Plus your exhaust should give you a significant top-end boost cuz of the fatter stomach, which should suit track riding nicely.

Is anybody interested in getting replacement shocks? It is not the original sach one, the brand name is Betor...made in spain or something

 

Like the standard one, it has only preload adjustable and are reputed last way longer than the stock items. It works on gas, not shock oil. Comes with 1 year warranty and is rebuildable

 

Cost : 84.25 pounds (VAT excluded) before shipping.

 

Is anyone interested? If the demand is good, I can do a little mass order so that we can save on shipping.

 

So for example:

One shock costs S$357, 2 costs S$320 each.

Oh yah, you did mention you found a cheap and good solution... I think I can guess what it is, but it still makes me Hmm, that explains why riding around town is a lot more manageable now.

bro, dats a good idea, however do u know how it performs? people here are sceptic when trying new products. u shud noe. but if it works, then it may be a good buy, else the stock ones will be the other better choice. u noe the ah boy version of the same shock? lets hope it aint another one of those.

yea, i did a search on the AF1 form and 125ccsportsbike.com forum for information about this Betor shocks. And i think i have the Ahboy version on my bike...which has nothing to adjust, not even preload... theres insufficient damping too

 

Most of them said that the betor shocks actually have a longer life than the original one, one of them actually said it lasted for 35000km / 2 years. there are some, who also claimed that it improved the ride quality

 

However, there's also one of them who said his shock blew in 1 day.

 

Then again, all those are just word of mouth, so don't take them for granted... I muz also say that this shock, cannot be expected outperform brands like WP or Nitron. this is just a replacement shock, not a performance shock
