i still don't believe until we genna road block together and they say ok you may go......wahahaha....then i will buy u coffee and then go do one number plate for myself. :cheer:

hi all.. as u all know, i bought a bike n piston jammed.. now i thinking of overhauling it which cost 1.5k changing piston, conrod n block la.. i already renewed the coe which cost close to 700... til 2015... i am selling it for 3.2k.. FN plate... any takers? u can run in the bike urself!! considering the money i pumped in these 2 weeks, u r like buying it for 1k only if u do it urself.. selling due to mom die die don wan mi to ride this bike anymore due to the jammed incident... any takers? i bought n sell like this will make mi lose lotsa money n my lost is ur gain...

my mom don let mi ride rs 250 le leh.. she don allow 2A now.. maybe a 4 stroke... but not 250 lor..

maybe i will downgrade back to the 125? hmmz.. as u all can see.. its a steal... i am like spending so much for the next owner.. so.. hurry n grab it..

even if ya get a 125 also doesn't guarantees it to be good...

ya mite need to spend money on it..

put RS125 stickers on it, change the colour and tell her you downgraded back to 125.

dun sell la.... just ride lah the RS125 sticker i do for u FREE OF CHARGE then u show ur mother see la....

just a heavily modified RS125 with 2 >>-A-R-R-O-W--> exhuast and both adjustable shock onli :)

yo cheng xi, i agree wif antonioshabirto said in ya thread... tat sob really is dishonest.. i bet the pistons seized before.. and he jus get the shop to make it workin before sellin it to ya, without doin anything to it..

Din you test ride it? I remember you saying it jammed after 10km right? If i were you, i'd keep the bike since you already put the effort and money to do it up.. Atleast now you know got no more problems.. Anyway, if you really keen to sell it, upz for ya sale dude!

scrap the bike and get more money back? COE can refund. Insurance also can. The rest of the parts combine should fetch 1.2K or more.

hello everyone,

 

a newbie to aprilia bikes here; thinking of changing my bike, and not upgrading bike when i get my 2a license next year.

 

a few questions i hope some of the more experienced ones can help:

 

1) anybody made a similar decision (get 2a license and not upgrade) and regretted it? i eventually want to get a cl2 bike. Can a rs125/tuono 125 keep up with a super4? what is the torque on the bikes like?

 

2) handling wise, how does a tuono compare with the NSR150SP? does the inverted fork on the aprilias really do anything different, or is it more for sexiness value?

 

3) how is it like living with the aprilias? how often do you *have to* get service besides the usual 2T, carb, plugs? Where do you all go? Are parts hard to find?

 

4) i cannot seem to find any info on the tuono 125; the engine and framework is identical to the rs125 right? what are some things to look out for when buying a used rs125/ tuono? what are the parts that wear out the fastest?

 

5) i found a bike with ridiculously low mileage - how to tell if the odometer had been disconnected? during normal riding, which part of the bike gets dirty/worn out the fastest?

 

6) would you all buy a used bike from Mah? Are they reliable people? Are prices there generally inflated (dunno who told me this though)? Can insist on test ride or not, although thinking about it, traffic density there very heavy, so dunno where to go.

Guys i really need advise :help: Just now i was riding and while i was at 4th gear at rpm9 i was going to approach a bend so i let go my throttle and let the engine brake slow the bike down then suddenly my bike shout damn loud as if at rpm 9 i down 1 gear and throw the clutch but i didnt do anything !! then its like u super jam brake that kind of feeling and i was going to fly off infront due to the rpm at redline.. i immediately clutch in then i was thinking "what !? what!? hongkan is it piston jam?!" then the whole bike die off the rpm shoot back to zero. :help: Then i try to let go abit of the clutch to see if my back wheel lock or not but the bike start by itself again as if nothing happen!? then i stop and listen to the engine its normal leh and the valve never break or anything its like nothing happen... but why suddenly the gear down by itself? if i didnt clutch-in in time i tink me and my pillion is dead meat :help:

 

Pls can someone tell me what happen? its really dangerous what if it happen while i was in a corner... the bike sure skid... is it clutch slip? pls advise... :help: :help:

im using 2t pump... 2t settings is rich... im using esso 2t gold and the intake is big, big till u can see the smoke... cannot be piston jam mah... if jam i wont be able to ride already... its like the gear down by itself and the bike super redlined like that... then the power cut off by itself and when i release abit of the clutch it start up again... and everything goes back to normal...

i don know bout tt.. but i don think so ba.. i think he also don wish to sell mi a bike tt spoil so easily? he look trustable to mi.. N we chatted n i treat him as a fren.. so i don think so ba.. cos ride half way the coolant leak out til dry tts y jammed.. yarh... i tot of scrapping..but i see 1 couple of rs 250 scrapped n selling part n i don think i can sell the parts off.. like my 125 now still got parts unsold after 8 mths.. haha....

aiya dun scrap la... u shld knw ur scrap parts which 1 can sell or not la.. u scrap ur bike how much can they fetch ??? wat parts mostly other ppl need... and some more scrap parts rims fork fairing??? but wat kinda price they wan to offer.. rather sell of the whole bike some more ur bike just overhaul cfm mileage and condition better.... if everything change include con rod and new block and piston more then 200+ then open reserve...might as well ride then see if u wanna ride or sell... trust me la if u ride a good condition when u feel the valve open you wun bear to sell it...

Hi bro, and welcome to the family. Do join us when we meet up next to say hi and meet the guys. By the way, there are several Aprilians who've gotten their Class 2A licences and not upgraded their bikes. It's hard to fight 400cc 4-stroke bikes on pickup or top speed unless you mod your bike insanely (for the track, not street, of course), but your handling can fight anyone, anytime. Tuono 125s only differ from RS125s in having shorter gearing and no fairing. A Tuono 125's handling shouldn't even be compared to an NSR150SP; Aprilia handling is superior to anything in 2B but a Cagiva Mito/Planet/Raptor. Inverted forks flex less, and fare better in crashes - not just for show. Aprilia wear and tear is like any other bike - chains, sprockets, tyres, etc, wear out like you'd expect. Parts are harder to find than Japanese bikes and are pricier. Aprilia's are great to live with if you're willing to spend the money to maintain it properly - replace worn parts and don't use rubbish 2T/petrol/gear oil. I think that's all the info that's not already on the ARC forum.

Your bike i'm still working out the calculations to buy, but probably in nov or dec, if you're still interested in selling.

 

 

Chris, there was water in the tank and carbs apparently. I know my carbs were due for a cleaning and tune-up so i guess it was gonna happen sometime.
