Dear all,

though I haven't gotten any advice from you guys, I decided to buy a brand new RS125 from the bike shop.

Seeing how much you guys love your bikes and all, made me come to that decision.

Hopefully, I would be able to ride with you guys some day.

In the meantime, stay cool

dannis bro..

better get the michelin pilot race than the sports version..

sports is for daily use with occasional track days..

good side>warm up very quick, very grippy..

bad side> loses its traction very fast..

go with the pilot race..

if better..

go for the new ones..

michelin pilot power race with dual compound..

soft at the sides, medium in the middle..

hmm..

my 2 cents worth of crap..

but gpr-70s also not bad wat..

still holding my 250 well in corners..

even spidey ones too..

spidey cornering is way faster than mine..

Pilot race in my opinion is a gd tyre for track. Although my views are biased cos Im using the P-race on a 1000cc, the lower cost is indeed an inviting temptation plus alternative to gpr70 and others like pirelli and continental.

Have yet to find out if it really is 240bux as mentioned by Dannis.

Maiker using metz racetecs on his bike. Superb feel of the track as I tested in Sepang and as shown in siggy below. Didnt realised it was racetecs until midway.

One thing is for sure, tyre choices vary to ur level and type of riding. Choose the one which suits ur purpose. GPR 70 is not the answer to all track conditions. There are alternatives but some at a cost. Pirelli diablo corsa at 450bux last quoted. And yes, they do have sizes for our bikes.

Anyone can check out the prices at lab for the pilot race? i wish i can but i finish late this week.

i got the same feedback although not sure how many of them are using them. i thought u were already using them. even myapbigbore is using the pirellis for superbikes ie supercorsa 120/150.

using the superbike sizes, they are good enough to inspire confidence with my fazer. of course the push level compared on a race day is totally different on normal trackdays. definitely looking forward to ur input on the tyres on actual race day. 7 more days to go right... :)

being dual compund, it would also be good of occasional on road rides which race purpose tyres would actually be wasteful to use on.

let me know when u changing. i'l try to drop buy and take a look.

I know; tell me about it :giddy: Working stiffs and hardworking students will have no choice but to go a bit later. I'll probably only be done with work at 9pm+, and then full throttle down.

alan, dun mind if i point sumthing out. remember u were saying u can never get ur knee on the road. well, looking at ur positioning via ur siggy, seems that your position is ok but u probably need to bring ur body down more.

a few factors : bike ride height, u might be pulling ur knee closer to ur bike without noticing even with the right posture.

at the end of the day as steve ewan says, its not important that ur knee touches the ground. it is how vertical a bike can be during a corner and maintaining that posture till the end of the corner. so no right or wrong.

not to mention that u have longer legs so its much easier to knee-down unlike height-impaired people like me.

Humm .... you might be right after all. Looking at my pic I might have not open my knee wide enough to get my knee down to the road. Think I will try to shift my bud more on the next track session. Thanks for your advice. :cheeky:
