Guys..

 

Spoke to CEO of Sepang and was informed of the following :-

 

Category available for 2009

1) SuperBike Open - Modifications as per 2008 SR

2) SuperBike Novice - Modifications as per 2008 SR

 

3) SuperSport Open - Modifications as per 2008 SR

4) SuperSport Novice - Modifications as per 2008 SR

 

New Category

 

1) SuperSTOCK 1000cc

 

Modifications allowed :-

SLIP-ON EXHAUST ONLY (NO Full System)

RACING FOOTREST

BRAKELINE UPGRADE

RACING FAIRING

SUSPENSION SPRING UPGRADE WITH STOCK BODY

 

STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED:-

Wire Harness

Racing ECU

Power Commander

Aftermarket Brake Pump Upgrade

Aftermarket Brake Calliper

Aftermaket Wheels/Rim

 

So basically, STOCK STANDARD 1000cc just can change Fairing, Slip-On Exhaust, Brakeline and Rear Set.

 

The TYRE MAKE has been finalised as OPEN MAKE for all Category.

 

STRICTLY NO SLICKS

RAIN TYRE ARE ALLOWED BUT OPTIONAL. So basically if the race declared as WET, u can change to WET tyre if u want.

 

TRANSPONDER

Usually, SIC will issue to riders upon registration/scruitenering but this year ALL RIDERS will have to purchase their own transponder.

 

THIS IS COMPULSORY TO ALL!!! No Transponder, No Registration!!!

 

You have tha options to get it on your own or get it thru SIC during Round 1.

 

Cost of each Transponder is Aussie $450 or equivalent to about RM1100.

 

SIC can offer up to 3x payment for the Transponder but will hold the transponder till full payment is made.

 

Should you require clarifications on all the above matter, you can email SIC..

600 supersport rules already limit to very limited modifications.

Yup since i am slow. :sian:

 

Everyone started out slow. Since you say so, then everyone can say they're slow and compete in novice class instead.

 

Define 'fast' , 'slow' . What's the purpose of having a split class forming Novice and Open then ?

 

Every year, there will be Novice riders that can ride faster than Open riders. Does this means the faster Novice rider should ride in Open class and vice-versa ? Would it be fair to either class ?
