1.8T is about the same as your original stock airfilter setting, right?

was at 1.75T when using stock filters, got ~25km/L

switched to K&N on same setting, got ~24km/L

tried 1.5T on K&N and got only ~23km/L

now at 1.8T, got ~25km/L... very happy but sometimes wonder what if i use 1.9T

my silverwing was sold to an owner via looi's motor. was told by mech he only traveled about 200km over period of 6 mths. now is back in looi's motor. din get to see the mileage coz the batt is being charged battery muz be super duper flat..

 

if so, the mileage shd be abt 7500KM. those wanna get silverwing 400, can consider..

No no. All are different.

But it is a good starting point if you already messed up your readings...

 

If bike have problem reaching high speed, then might need to lower the turns a bit.

If bike sluggish at low end, chances are the fuel is too rich (can check spark plugs too)and should turn the screw out.

Then if i go for tuning at k&t, do i have to specify how many turns i wan or if i leave it to the mechanic, how many turns will he set?

because i meddle with the air-screws so often, i actually made a marking on the top side of each screw for easy reference; the marking indicates the fully closed position. with it, i don't have to fully close the screw before turning it out to get my desire settings, just adjust taking reference from the marking

in theory, there is no one setting that fits all usage, also depends on airflow (air-filter). setting optimal for city riding may not be optimal for touring which runs more in the higher rpm zones.

e.g. my 1.8T setting with K&N suits my riding pattern (mostly highways) but same setting may not be optimal for someone who rides mainly in city area.

same applies for roller weights, lighter rollers gives you zippier ride in city are will require higher rpm to achieve the higher speed zones.

K & T usually don't entertain the idea of number of turns.

They will just tune to balance the engine.

 

You can try ask them to check the current setting (turns) and you can then track the bike performance after the tuning.
