Aiyo.

It's all in the way it is written lah.

Writing can never replace face to face talk where the tone and expression can be conveyed more accurately. No harm done de lah. Chat over a kopi session should be ok liao.

Anyway, I believe Kris just wants to remind others that prevention is better than cure and that parts should be serviced/replaced regularly as scheduled.

That's why I follow my own replacement schedule... whether a part is spoilt or not. That way, I can't blame anyone but me if problem arises.

If the place is fun, maybe next year Songkran I might extend to Samui again.

bro, something to add. there are very important reasons to go for H&B boxes. they're very well built. looking at the air pockets in the boxes, they absorb a lot of the impact when hitting the ground. even myself have experience this. even if u only latch the box without locking it, when upon impact, the box will not open. all this boxes have gone through tests to prove its worth.

talking abt GIVI boxes, the prices have gone up to be quite unreasonable after some company took over.

and i've also a friend who used to ride silverwing with a Maxia 52 box. when he got into an accident in Malaysia, the box dislodge from the rack and smash to pieces.

talking abt Causeway Point & surrounding shopping centers in the north, the past trends were actually the GIVI boxes cos GIVE boxes are much easier to break into.

so actually H&B is ok in some sense? i saw a guy wanna sell a gobi box wif universal rack... can e universal rack fit our SW? my SW does come wif a pretty new GIVI 45l box but wanna get something more stylish... but it will more or less attract wrong attention... :sian:

not only abt the solid hard case. but importantly the air-pockets designed in the box. for GIVI & Kappa boxes, the size is calculated from the outside of the box. but for H&B boxes, it calculated only from the internal of the box. and i like H&B boxes is because its squarish. making packing a lot easier.

btw, in Malaysia, breaking into a GIVI box or stealing the whole box have always been common. unless u can mod to put in a padlock.

yup. all along leh.... thats why i ask u to get a sparky too. so much to play with. lets give an example, lets say your piston ring is loose or your con-rod crack, nobody will replace all this parts. straight change the whole engine to 150cc. cos its so damn cheap. haha.....

can. but it'll not follow the holes suppose to be drilled. not advisable.

Yah, I remembered you are the one who told me to get a Sparky at Loois... Actually quite a nice ride but a bit slow (my 1st non Class 2 in many many years...haha) FC was damn good.... ranged between 52-58km/litre!!!

wah...

Bro, superb FC sia!

But is it a bit too light esp on rainy days and on ECP (Benjamin Shears sector)?

Yah, very light..... and luckily so.....

Yesterday, I rode out and parked somewhere uneven and the bike wanted to drop away from me as I put her on the mainstand.... if it was SW....it's gone.... but i managed to pull the sparky back and maintained her "drop free" status!!

Hee.. i might be interested to downgrade too.

Coming to my last sch semester liao and seriously contemplating a change as i dun need that much storage space as before.. And i dun ride during weekends.

But i'm just a bit skeptical abt the safety of riding a lighter-weight bike esp when u jam brakes, ride in windy & rainy conditions as i think our SW seems like a very stable and safe scoot! IMHO

Eh... Off topic a bit but how much u got yours for?

Spin37,

Nice meeting you on the road yest!

Your white SW is very outstanding from far indeed !

.

Nice to meet u too ! Erm, but like a bit dangerous way to meet lo..haha

It was jammed all the way man, cant believe we could still talk and shake hands.. Thanks for the compliment, sometimes too outstanding attract lots of cats, my seat loads of scratches lo. But sometimes on expressway is good, pple give way, especially when i wear white shirt ! :cheeky:

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!

do consider seriously... safety is more important than some savings here n there. how much would you save by downgrading and is it worth the risk. imho, the higher costs of maintaining the SW far exceeds the returns (e.g. safety, comfort, convenience, etc)... haha... accountant talk again :p furthermore, its not like you're in a position that needs to cut "operating costs" badly...

huat arh!!!

Only now I understand why ppl say riding a CUB is cheaper than taking bus!!

Yah, you are right.... the tyres look like they belong to a bicycle and we are using it at 80-90km/hr..... gosh... so ride slow and ride safe loh....

A few times, I signal to overtake then realise I do not have the power to do so, so signal back to left lane...haha.....

I got my sparky at ASP for $5100.... I am thinking of selling, wanna consider?? Keke...... Feel like getting a Vespa GTS 300 or GTV 250
