How much is a brand new FJS400 now??

Yep,is true.. No la, as I wanted to get a fjs to achieve better fc :D

If you use fuel savings to justify change from JDM to FJS when you've just bought not too long, it will almost never work out :)

did you discuss with him about ignoring the T-mode?

the FJS does not have T-mode so naturally its ECU does not support this JDM function.

we can't get best of both world solutions... it never exists :p

Maybe tonight iwhile viewing the fjs400 at his shop I will ask him ba :D

Anyone heading to ACM tonight? Meanwhile can view the FJS400 with me :D

As I intend to ride long on silverwing hence looking to get FJS for better fuel saving. Espeically on high speed crusing during touring. But what do u recommend? :p

Not just dct. New engine technology. 700cc with claimed 25-26km/l.

Damn good FC for a 700cc bike.. Power. Maybe they have implemented the latest honda car technology on their bikes as well. My fren's civic can get 22 to 23 per litre of fuel. His one is equip with two batteries, which partically can say is driven by battery as well hence better fc.

Your friend's driving the Honda Civic Hybrid 1.3.... Impossible to achieve such fuel consumption on the normal versions....

Notice that though the 700cc engine can achieve such good fuel consumption but power not the best in class.

New model super expensive =( Very rare on the road.

But I prefer the looks of the FJS anyways. Its still selling in Europe and USA.

There are many options, but depends on your priorities and finance (no offence intended pls, it's a fact of life :) ) If you can get a good deal from buying a FJS and selling your JDM without losing too much, that's one of the options worth considering.

For me, my priorities are (1) no manual gear change, (2) big storage and (3) low maintenance (cleaning, esp chains). So far, few bikes meet all three, hence still prefer my SW.

Yep, that's the option I'm looking for too.. As previously I wanted a FJS but unfortunatly I can't find anyone selling it hence i gotten a JDM. But now I aldy decide to ride a silverwing for long as I pretty appreciate the benefits of the bike such as what u mentioned big storage, auto, as well as relax and comfortable. Hence these priorities have makes me crave on a FJS more for additional saving on fuel and not forgetting it does equip with HISS which is also +1 up on security issue:D

Regards to losing money, more or less sure have as mine is an older model.

But I aldy intend to ride the FJS for long hence no worries on losing money just look forward in saving on fuel which more or less might able to compenstate on the amount which I have lost.

Headache...

Got feedback that Krabi to Genting is too long.

But we need to reach Genting directly after Songkran in Krabi.

Unless forgo Songkran then replace 1 day in Ipoh or Cameron.

What say? ASAP please.

Wait wait wait.

What's the difference between JDM (I suppose it stands for Japanese Domestic Model of Silverwing) and FJS (export model of the Silverwing)???

Well, referring to the previous look Silverwing for both isn't it??

To me, Krabi to Genting, and Krabi to Cameron alot of difference.

What we can do for Krabi to Genting, is that we do more stops. Maybe every 150km, instead of aiming at 200km.

Also, longer rest at each stops. I don't mind reaching Genting late. So, we can just take our time.

the SW scooter has evolved over the years since its initial launch in 2001...

* FJS: 2001~2009, European model, "single" headlight unit, sold in Europe, US, and brought into Singapore by Boon Siew

* JDM: 2001~2009, Japan model, "single" headlight unit, brought into Singapore as parallel imports by Looi's, Mah, etc.

* SW-T: 2009 onwards, European model, "twin" headlight units, sold in some places of Europe, US, and brought into Singapore by Boon Siew

* GT: 2009 onwards, Japan model, "twin" headlight units, brought into Singapore as parallel imports, only saw a few in Singapore, dunno who brought them in, Mah? :p

see Tech Corner (at sticky) posts #83 & #84 for details of SW variations
