Anyone know which car rental or car rental website would rent a car to person who just passed driving test ?

No driving experience but got riding experience counts ?:cheeky:

I also dun understand why we have such stupid policies by insuance companies here.... to load on new drivers....

This in turns encourages newbies not to drive(when they are fresh from test-skills shd be alright, just no experince) and drive only after 2 years (now lost most skills, currency and still no experience):giddy:

knock someone's car down? insurance pay lor... plus NCB gone, higher premium nia mah

knock someone down (non-fatal)? insurance pay lor... plus summon, demerit points or license kantong nia mah

kill someone? insurance pay lor... plus license kantong, jail, won't die or bankrupt one

insurance took over the driver's responsibility when things go wrong, is this why sinkaporian drivers are so wreckless?

but of course, i'm also a driver... insurance cover everything is good

insurance cover evrything good or not depends on which side of the fence you are on...

if you accident free....drive carefully, law abiding.... then every damn year the premium kept going up although yr NCD is more, car price depreciated, then you will be very txxlxx right?

Mileage was 40,500km

Condition of belt - still can go for another 5-10,000km

Rollers - Still pretty much rounded no signs of uneven wearing off etc.

Variator Plate – No signs of uneven wear off at the sides of the U shape

Next change onwards, I will try cleaning transmission at 25,000km and change whole set (rollers + belt + u clips) at 50,000km...

Not all belts and rollers are the same. Some belt lucky can lasts long long. Some will break when unexpected. Some looks ok but will belt slip due to getting too thin.

Rollers may get uneven wear due to dust and dirt in transmission. Scooby and mine lasts only abt 20k (flatten sides). Helmetbox ones were still round when changed. Cannot be 100% sure the condition remain good everytime.

Variator also must check the 02 smooth surfaces for wear.

But hor, all the above is based on individual liking and confidence. If really can lasts 50km... wah, super save $$ liao.

my sis works in insurance industry... from her, every insurer incur losses for motor insurance, due to excessive and to many claims. pass on the losses, premiums keep going up lor. that's why they implemented many control measures such as CDAC, approved workshops, etc... but how many works? :(

agree, i sometimes also very TL. no thanks to the wreckless drivers who push their responsibility to the insurers, we the responsible drivers suffers together coz insurers pass down theirs losses across the board :gun:

Agreed, there are some really reckless driver but it is still in the monority.

gotta differ from that... i think its the majority. next time you hit the roads, see for yourself how many divers don't signal when filtering, make calls without hands-free, tailgate, speeding, eating-n-drive, etc etc. the worst i've seen is a man reading newspapers while driving, KNN cannot wait izit :slapforehead:

but i guess the ultimate is to have sex while driving... would love to see that

Agreed that there may be some lemons here and there. However, I’m pretty confident that the lifespan of parts should be quite consistent unless affected by other factors such as dirt and dust like what you mentioned. All things happen for a reason, it usually don’t react abnormally just like that.

Hence, I feel it’s is important to do a through cleanup inside when changing the new belt, rollers etc, not just replace and ok. Else it may affect the performance of the new parts.

I’m quite surprised that your rollers only last you 20k. I am just thinking aloud here, no offences. Other than the dust and dirt, could it be the riding style play a contributing factor? I used to have such problem with my previous scooter when I “drag” my throttle frequently without releasing like the way I ride my sprocket and chain bikes. Now I learned to drag => release a bit => drag again after some pointers from old birds.
