SWT & FJS speculatively should share the same trunk light. Google image for SWT trunk light pn 34265-sfe-003. Chairman method will work. A small flat tip screw driver also helps.

Thank you guys I will try again!

Hi fellow Sw-ers. Just got my ride on yesterday, noticed 2 "issues" wonder it's normal as follows:

1)When cruising at above 50-60km/hr I heard a rumbling sound coming from under the sea left side(gear+belt). - do not know whether because it's still running in.

2)The windshield can be adjusted(quite flimsy) and there a squeezing sound when on the move.

Apart from that SW is a superb ride!

1st Hand SW-T?

1. Ride for a while. Belt and drive plates might be still new. If after a few days still the same, then go back to bike shop get them to check whether something is loose or kena oil.

Btw, during running in can ride normally (some preferred not exceeding 5k rpm or 90km/h). Too low a speed not good for engine. Even the SW manual only specify not to full throttle or fast acceleration. Nothing about speed restriction.

2. Never heard of a stock adjustable windshield on the SW. Only Givi aftermarket got.

Apart from that SW is a superb ride!

there will always be some sound coming out from the CVT drive system, just that it's not supposed to be loud or goes "garak garak garak" like something has broken loose inside. unlike bikes running on gears, SW's belt CVT has "loose" moving parts inside such as rollers that are encased inside the variator plates (free to roll up/down their respective ramps), belt that kinda "whips" whenever it suddenly take/release tension, etc.

in other words, some sound from inside the blacky transmission case is normal, but not supposed to be loud or "garak" sounding.

another sound (other than those SW9000 mentioned) to expect from a brand new bike is some light "screeching" from the rear drive area when moving off, caused mainly by new clutch pads not yet bedded with the new clutch bell surface (theory of bedding is similar to those for brake pads). but it should go off after a while.

some of us use the quick bedding method by holding the brakes down firmly (better to have front tyres against a wall or something), then throttle to like 3k rpm (clutch must bite) for few seconds, release and wait for few seconds (prevent burning the pads), and repeat the brake-throttling step 3 or 4 times. you'll notice a bit of burning smell coming from the clutch area but that's normal when doing this procedure.

if screeching sound persists, then one possibility is some oil might have gotten its way into the clutch surfaces to cause slippage. if quick bedding does not help, then need to strip and clean liow.

windshield might be loose, best to go ask workshop to open up and check. it's not supposed to be so flimsy. can DIY if you don't mind getting hands dirty.

Ever considered buying a fire extinguisher for home use?

SelfFix DIY is having "promo" for fire extinguishers. Price is not really cheaper but buying from them is for the convenience bah, since they have outlets at many shopping centres. I was also told that we can send the extinguishers to any SelfFix DIY outlet to have them serviced at $15 each. Hey, no need to go down to shops that sell fire extinguishers during their office hours liow. On servicing, IMO, annual servicing for home use extinguishers is not really necessary, but we must make sure that the pressure is still sufficient (check the pressure gauge).

"Better to have it when I don't need it, than not to have it when I needed it"

Guess the product?

We need it when things get really hot

hi 70boleh, welcome to the SW community ... hope you'll enjoy your brand new SWT and feel the 4 months of waiting is worth it

our kopi sessions at Rail Mall Coffee Bean (aka CB Clubhouse) on Thursdays, 7+ to 9+pm. no fixed time cos some will be there as early as 6pm for massage and makan :p

i find the claim that LTA would issue a fine for "wrongly mounted" IU weird, cos the IU isn't a compulsory item. some big/reputable motortiams sell new bikes without IUs, and it's not even in the vehicle inspection checklist. according to BP, we don't even need to buy/mount IU if not using the bike pass any ERP gantry at all, ERP parking can insert cash card like those malaysian cars/bikes. i've seen riders who don't carry/mount their IU around, using connection plugs for to connect their removable IUs to the bike as and when required. imo, the mech smoke you cos mounting it inside the glove compartment needs more effort and time. but most of us install IU for the convenience and daily needs, ERP here there everywhere :p

another thing with IU ... you may wanna consider is Motopay-DBS (http://www.motorpay.com.sg), especially if you need to pay ERP gantries everyday like me and don't mind paying a smallish fee of $1.07/month. with that, no need to worry about forgetting to put cash card inside IU, simply ride (or drive) through any ERP gantry and the charges will be automatically charged to the designated credit card. very convenient.

Bro, do you happen to know does this applies to carpark that uses IU?

Posted
hoho just read the FAQ, only for erp gantry

yup, only ERP gantry for now... i'm using it cos everyday gotta pay ERP on way to work, very convenient.

hopefully the motorpay services can extend to car parks as well, but still waiting :p

Hi, is it possible to turn on both the headlights without switching on the high beam switch?

So far anyone did this modification before? Will it cause any problems to the bike?

Thanks.
