only magic i know is to change bike :cheeky:

first, to set the expectations right... our SW cannot pick up as fast as the "mosquito bikes" (especially the malaysian modded ones), even with radical mods that burn holes in the pocket :p

SW weighs 228kg (dry) while a cub only around 75kg (dry), huge deadweight difference of >150kg. its like a heavy 1.8L auto Stream vs. a 1L manual Getz where the lighter manual trans car will always spear ahead when lights turn green before the heavier bigger cc auto car overtakes it. different story for race bikes/cars but the SW is a touring maxi-scoot, not meant for racing.

see Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner (http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 2) post #53 for ideas to improve performance (power)

some easy stuffs to boost low end performance... but PAP lor :D

+ change exhaust to leo vince full system

+ change spark plugs to iridium or other racing plugs

+ change to high performance distribution wires

+ use PA auto & PA ignite (similar or VS or Revtec)

+ change to lighter rollers

+ change to malossi multivar variator set

+ low windshield to reduce wind drag

+ no top box to reduce wind drag

+ use lighter eo

+ use fuel addictives such as FP60, octane booter, etc

+ use high octane gasoline such as caltex platinum or shell V-power

+ use K&N air filter

+ tune your engine to slightly richer

:goodluck:

Hi Scoobydoo,

Thanks for the reply!

Where to go buy all this stuffs? BTW, I have set my expectation right, it is this bike that fall too under the right expectation.

More torque on the low end will really help. Will try to spend some upgrade for this bike before calling it quits..

guess bo pian gotta lower your expectations... many of us are happy that our SW has served us well. unless something better comes up, i should be riding it for quite a while :shades:

if you have intention of selling, maybe wanna consider spending the thousands on the new ride :p

anyway, here's where you can find the stuffs...

+ change exhaust to leo vince full system check with Ah Keong coz he's using

+ change spark plugs to iridium or other racing plugs i'm using IUH24, $20 ea from Motoworld but cheaper from LAB (self change)

+ change to high performance distribution wires check with Motoworld

+ use PA auto & PA ignite (similar or VS or Revtec) check with Equipment Extreme or Tai Hin

+ change to lighter rollers check with Tai Hin for Dr Pulley

+ change to malossi multivar variator set check with Future Scootering or Motoworld

+ low windshield to reduce wind drag check with HelmetBOX! coz he has 1 for sale

+ no top box to reduce wind drag

+ use lighter eo i'm using Liqui Moly from Tai Hin, can try 300v

+ use fuel addictives such as FP60, octane booter, etc i bought FP60 from Motoworld

+ use high octane gasoline such as caltex platinum or shell V-power

+ use K&N air filter check with K&T or Motoworld

+ tune your engine to slightly richer check with SW9000, can DIY

also suggest you change the front fork spring to hyperpro, really helps a lot to improve handling, but stiffer :thumb:

Should be the clutch.

Used to move off betw 2k to 2.5k rpm.

Now is 3k to 3.5k rpm and very draggy and noisy.

High speed remains normal but acceleration response affected.

Opened my transmission black cover and realised the sponge filter was really really damn dirty, got leaves stuck there somemore.

Cleaned liao now the problem no more.

But will still check the clutch and belt soon becos got a little rubber burning smell when the problem 1st surfaced.

Could it be the filter too dirty and prevent the proper cooling of the transmission compartment? Hmm....

1. Change lighter rollers will do for faster pick up but top end might suffer.

But you don't need to travel 160km/h everyday, ya?

2. Maintain idling rpm at 1.3k to ensure better response from throttle (no lag).

Other than that... I think nothing liao.

Unless you want change to Tmax (class 2)...

better pick-up doesnt mean lower top end. Try Dr pulley, i achieved better pick-up and higher top end :thumb:

BUT fc suffer abit..

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!

for another $30 can get made in japan Yuasa YTZ12S liow leh

batt should last 2+yrs if well taken cared; ours is maintenance free, so just make sure don't let it go flat out or allow sulfation to occur

What is Dr Pulley and how much, where to get it fix and honestly I don't care about top end as I don't go beyond 95 km/h

I have used those $20 per piece spark plugs and high octance fuel.

for lighter rollers, previously when I change rollers, they say only original available.

I am willing to spend 1 K to burn, is Dr Pulley best option?

hit me with your thoughts and when I get it fix I will share my review here. thanks!
