Today just collect my silverwing 400 . When I put to main stand no issue but want to bring down from main stand very big issue . Use all my 喝奶力 also can't bring my bike down . Senior any technic to bring the giant down with ease ? I short short only 161cm do it play a part?

bro, we about same size... me only 162cm and 60kg but as long as we don't try to fight the beast's weight, we'll be ok.

regardless of 180cm or 160cm, 80kg or 60kg, don't think any of us can out muscle the >250kg (when loaded) beast. but with technique, we'll do fine :thumb:

some tips... especially if you're new to big-fat-heavy scooters

posted before, sharing again...

* don't treat the SW like a road bike or those small zippy scooters; it has larger turning circle (longer wheelbase) and doesn't cup corners like them

* brake earlier cos stopping distance is longer. even with ABS and CBS, it ain't gonna stop very short due to its larger momemtum (p = mass x velocity)

* avoid acute turns. once the handlebar gets locked in (e.g. max turn) and it's on its way down beyond threshold recovery angle, it's almost impossible for smaller riders to muscle it up. i.e. make bigger circle u-turns to avoid dropping bike.

* if bike is already on the way down beyond recovery (applies to stationary drop), way to minimise damage is to quickly step out on same side as drop, hold the handle bar firmly, support and lay the bike down as slowly/gently as possible. you'll still get scratches on the tupperware, but at least you help prevent the tupperware from getting "internal injuries" (once the holder pins/fins inside head cowl breaks, the tupperware won't stick together nicely anymore) from "free fall" impact.

* use body weight + pull the left pillion handgrip when putting on mainstand. 60+kg isn't enough on its own to step the SW up, so left hand hold left handlebar/grip and keep bike standing upright, right hand hold left pillion handgrip, right leg on main stand foot-pedal, step-up and pull the left pillion handgrip in opposite direction from foot-pedal, your SW should go up smoothly.

* always park facing up-slope, regardless of main or side stand. main/side stands uses the weight of bike and angle of stand to lock it in position, so if angle is insufficient, it takes only a small knock to bring the bike down. we don't wanna see bike laying flat on the ground when we return ya. another advantage is, its easier to throttle the bike upslope than having to push/reverse the bike upslope.

* use cat repellents if your carpark has cats around, they love the SW's big flat seats; sleeping is one thing, but they tend to pee and scratch the seat. i've tried many different methods, best solution is to use mothballs (suggested by James). buy a pack (~$1), pour into a pair of old socks, use 1 string to tie them onto the rider's backrest leaving 1 on the rider seat and the other on pillion seat (must tie or cat will push it away), it works and the $1 pack lasts for a few months.

many more, but that's it for now... enjoy and ride safe :shades:

you may also wanna check out the SW Tech Corner... load of useful FAQ for reference

So in this case using main stand is not recommended? How difficult will it be to push the bike off the main stand in an up slope?

So in this case using main stand is not recommended? How difficult will it be to push the bike off the main stand in an up slope?

to avoid tricky situations, choose your parking spot wisely... don't park at steep slope la.

another thing to avoid is avoid parking on soft ground when using side stand. if bo pian, find a relatively flat/big piece of rock to use as support below the SW's side stand's "foot", else the weight may press the foot into the soft ground and your SW may end up on its side :p

some SWingers carry with them a small piece of metal plate for that purpose.

for smaller riders, can try this to bring the SW down from main stand with ease...

sit on rider seat with both feet on ground, or standing with the fuel tank between our legs (recommended if both feet can't touch ground when backside is on seat)

* engine not started, in case accidentally throttle while bringing bike down

* whether to use parking brake is optional (i usually don't use unless at slope, just in case)

* both hand on throttle grip, handlebar at perpendicular (front wheel at fore-n-aft)

* all in 1 motion with body weight... lift the SW's front up pulling the handlebar backwards and quickly push bike forward and roll down from main stand

. . . if not enough strength, can consider pushing front down a little and "bounce" the front up together

. . . you'll realise that it's more difficult to "bounce" with front brakes activated at this point

* also remember to quickly activate brakes to keep bike from rolling front/back if parking brake is not used

* whoala

same lift-n-push (or bounce+lift-n-push) technique can be used when bringing the SW down while standing at bike's side

have fun

if Singapore sells so expensive, can consider buying overseas...

actually, many lobangs are already posted at the Tech Corner, go see la

for example: http://www.servicehonda.com/parts.html

they listed the FJS windscreen "67101-MCT-680 WINDSCREEN" at US$219.11 before shipping... can ship to Singapore? shipping costs?

if no hurry, ship by sea is cheaper.

Need Headlights Halogen Bulbs? SW uses H7

Personally, I'ld recommend the Philips Xtreme Vision (or Power) over the Osrams or Ring which I have used, other than those much cheaper Korean or few dollars "standard" halogen bulbs.

Why not the very popular Diamond Vision? Cos its colour temperated is rated at 5000K, not LTA friendly.

The scratches very big?

If not big, then some stickers with pattern (tribal, fire, etc) might do.

Otherwise, can also visit JuzzWheelzz at Bukit Merah.

Not very big area but all deep scratches. Need to sand off before pasting sticker

for deep scratches, may wanna consider using some car bodyworks putty, dry and level using fine grade sandpaper (with water), before putting sticker to cover the patch. where to buy putty? try autobacs, 3M, TaoBao or Qoo10.sg
