i guess the http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Animals/cat.gif is out of the bag after tonight's gathering; blue scoob is going to become black scoob in few days time... hehe

have been thinking of a makeover for quite some time liow. so when scoob kenna some scratches few days back, the itch on my backside become so unbearable that i decided to make it happen. checked out airbrush with some designs but 太贵了. backside very itchy lately... first the battery, then K&N, now the makeover, still got some stuffs akan datang.

the ultimate is "crossing to the dark side"... a car tyre at the back... whahahaha :cheeky:

How much would a make-over cost and where are you doing it? Thanks.

depends on whether a standard makeover or extreme makeover :cheeky:

Paintwork

basic single colour 2K paint job costs between 350 to 550 depending on shops (some shops claim they use german 2k so charges more). 2 or more tones and complicated designs will cost more.

think i've seen riders painting also the black transmission unit cover to match the bike theme. pillion's handlebars/footrest assemblies, dashboard, handlebar covers and black body plastic covering the fuel tank also can be sprayed but not advisable unless they're already fadded or frayed, separate charges apply.

power powder coating the rims or metal parts will look very nice but separate charges apply.

airbrush jobs easily from >800 to >>1.5k depending on design. very chio, sure a head turner but my family members are very against it... not matching to my down to earth personality... whahahaha

do check n confirm you're getting a 2K and not 1K paint job.

most shops don't do dismantling, so gotta find a motortiam to strip and stow your naked bike. high chance "parts" will kenna "borrowed" if leave bike at normal car parks, even if covered up.

popular shops: replica (ah khoon), alan, jackson vehicles (henry), ong & sons, yeow motor, etc

check these threads out...

Seat Cover

wrap seat cover range between 65 to >>100 depending on fabric, design, size, modify cushioning, shop, etc. choice of single colour, multi-colours, normal/glossy/non-slip fabrics, embroideries, iron on designs, etc. can also modify to softer seat (add gel), lower or higher seat position, etc.

a leather looking brown cover would look very unique and flashy but my practical choice would still be the matt black non-slip fabric, around 90+ ba. full leather? dun waste $$ lah... unless you want free "mushrooms"

popular places: eugene saddlery, 219, auntie shop, etc.

Exhaust

can self spray the metal parts using those high temp spray cans (i know got black, silver, red). 2k paint used on body is not high temp resistant so will come off.

for the chrome plate, i've see people spray paint it but i'ld prefer to paste carbon-fiber looking high temp stickers over the centre and leave the skirtings chrome :thumb:

hiaz! the "metallic black" isn't as black as i would like it to be... turns out more like gunmetal grey instead :pity: luckily i still can live with the colour, else it'll be another few more bikeless days and taxi bills :faint:

despite some "hickups", i was really glad to have scooby back, so glad that i took it for a runabout anti-clockwise round sinkapor... PIE, ECP, Changi, TPE, SLE, Woodlands, BKE, KJE :p if only i had my passport, would have crossed over and let it run loose further... wheeeeee
