bro, maybe this sat if i got nothing to do will checkout the bikeshop you recommend...

anyways...my X9 is all good...except for this 2 problems..

the steering cone have a loose feel...when you stationary, you can also feel it by twisting the handlebar slightly left to right...you can feel something is not right...last weekend,i did tried tightening the steering cone...the loose feeling is gone...but only temporary..after riding for about 30km,the feel comes back...

Another problem is my right front brake caliper is jammed...that's the reason when you park the bike to mainstand, you spin the front wheel,it jammed...

maybe the caliper needs some servicing...this is not so major compared to the 1st problem...

Hi fellow X9 riders,

I'm a new 2004 X9 EVO 200 owner. I notice my temperature gauge stays at half way mark during cruising but start to rise when I stop the bike. Even a one minute wait at traffic light can see the needle rise 2 marks. Coolant is full BTW

If I continue to let the bike idles, it can reach just one mark before Red zone. The fan only runs when it almost reached red zone. Is this normal??

x9 normally is like that, if you feel not sure, i would advise you to get it check to double confirm, cheers.

Hi guys. I am sorry if what I am gonna ask may sound stupid for some of you. I had my X9 Evo 200 for nearly 1 year now. It use to go ard 300 to 340 KM on a full tank without using the reserve. but for the ast 2 months, on full tank it covers only like 290KM. May I know what is the cause? I had change the belts, rollers, clippers, oil filter, plug..... I have not change my air filter.... is it the cause? btw, the way I ride is the same from the day i bought the bike.... cause I understand the faster u ride the more fuel it consume.... I hope you guys who are more experience can help me out in this.... do email me at [email protected] as I dun really know how to go about using this forum.... Sorry yar....

you r not stupid at all because you know where to ask, cheers.

there's may be many things causes this, if you interested, call me i call share with you my experience.

Hi fellas...

I'm a noob...i will be getting my X9 amalfi tomoro...after a test ride today, and some things needs to do and well,I am sorry if i have to ask some questions that has been answered few thousands times...

Questions

1.The owner have notified me that the brake switch is faulty on the left and about to kaput on the right...Am I right that the bike won't start if the switch is faulty? Is there a way to bypass this switch?

2.Well...i noticed that the front wheel is locked or jammed when you try to spin it manually...i also found out that the rotor is quite badly worned on the left, and the owner told me that he only managed to replace the right one...well...i guess this i can try to rectify it,but would love to hear what others might say if they have gone through this experience.

3.What's you fuel consumption like on the 180cc Amalfi?owner said he is only able to get about 300km or slightly further...he said about 21km/ltr...which i think not so good rite?as i heard the bike could do slightly better...which my conclusion might be due to the front wheel not able to move smoothly..

4.What's the regular maintaince eg Engine Oil,sparkplug,or coolant?

5.How much is the transfer fee?any idea?

The bike have done 70k km on the clock, and owner said he have done some servicing about 2k km ago by replacing a new belt,rollers,etc...

Well...i guess that's for now...woah...seems like a long list of composition...but yeah...really needed this info...greatly appreciated if help is coming...

Cheers,

AJ

1. yes, when brake switch faultly, you cant use it to start the bike, i would advise you to get ot replace. Just incase the other also down, you are not able to start it. To bypass, you can open the panel and connect it together, i only advise if the both side brake switch is down and is only 1 time use, get it replace

2. few reason may cause > caliper, brake pads

3. it all depend how you ride, how heavy you are and ofcourse wear and tear

4. engine oil i would advise every 4000km max, plug and coolant every 12000km with full service

5. should be less than 100

if you need more info, you can also call me, i will try my best to reply you, cheers

box leaking water can be solve. if you are going to re-spray the bike, why not send the mirror for re-con, it will help to safe some $$$

Hi fellow X9 riders,

I've owned my X9 Amalfi (FV plate) two months ago. Am a noob to scooters. Took over from an uncle as 2nd owner.

Y'day I checked the engine oil and to my surprise, the level has dropped to minimal mark on the dip stick. So far, I've traveled about 2,000KM on my X9. I did not check the EO on taking over ownership though.

Do you guys do usually top-up the EO?

Another "symptom" I noticed about my X9:

So far, I have ridden my X9 in rain twice. The first occasion, I rode through heavy rain to my office. While turning into carpark a low speak, the engine suddenly went low RPM to near stall. I've to throttle more to keep it firing. When I'm done with work at the end of the day, I fire up the engine and rode off. On the first traffic junction where I came to a stop, the engine stalled. I have to press the start button many times before it cranked and move off. It happened several times that same evening. To prevent from stalling, I kept rev the RPM to "move-off" point i.e. about 3,000RPM.

Another thing is, I kept hearing a "roaring" sound during move off. Seems to come from the left side of the engine. Then, the pick-up of the scooter slacked. It is as if the belt or something is not "gripping" well.

What I did to rectify the above two symptoms? Nothing - I juz keep riding every day hoping it'll not stall. The roaring sound went away gradually. There is no drop in my fuel consumption.

2nd occasion where I rode in the rain. This time the rain was light. My X9 did not stall this time, but the "roaring" sound could still be heard. It went away on its own and performance.

Any of you has encountered these before? It looks to me that my X9 engine is not "water proof" or something like that.

Last noob qns: What is the recommended shops to go for servicing like EO, hub-oil, air-filter, belt and etc? (you can PM me if it is sensitive info to post it here).

Thanks :)

first of all, X9 is water proof don worry. haha

for EO did you check on a flat ground? me being cheated for the first few months too. because my carpark the road seems to curve towards right. so whenever i check sure only @ low dip level.

for roaring,

i think i encounter this before..

think ur bike need to do servicing..

the roaring should be clutch slip. i got the clutch from horizoner (use 8k only) and it solve. i see my old clutch before.. the clutch pad almost gone.. depends on u to change clutch or not.. after i change, no more roaring sound, pick up better..

as for the engine stall.. nt very sure.. didn't encounter this before.. is it the curb??
