The LCD panel is to show mileage, time, trips, temp. The LCD also control the brake light and signal light.

recently my FC also increase.. same thing.. 20 - 30km drop 1 bar.. i dunno is it the Air filter.. cause i 9k haven't change.. previously just wash with soap and water without any petrol.. will take out and clean clean this few days..

EO i think as long 10w40 should be alright? ha..

Cheong.. if you worried your fuel line crack, just don't pump full. i always set 10Litres @ petrol station. Cause whenever i pump full sure see abit of leakage on floor (dunno is it my bike anot cause all parking lots have oil stains on floor.. ha)

the reason u c leaking on th efloor is beause the fuel floater O-ring wear out, that cause the leaking. If you park side stand, you will see more leaking, it will stop once the fuel not so full.

Kenny,

1) Mine is a FV plate, 2002 till now

2) The previous owner went to Future Scootering for full servicing (oil, gear oil, belt & rollers) only about 3 months back. Now it has only covered about 2k

3) Tyre pressure, I just pumped front 210, rear 250

so you see, I just don't get why the mileage is that bad....given that I am extra heavy...but still should not fall to only 16km/ltr mah...

anyway, I will try to check whether the fuel line is leaking or not....and I run a few more full tanks to see whether the mileage get better or not...

dun think there's leaking in the fuel hose, if there's you should be able to see it clearly.

Try to do some maintenance (servie carb) and see got different or not, if still same, i think you may need an overhaul. Maybe too much carbon on the valve intake

some info to share,

fuel meter level may not be 100% (high chances faultly), best is still base to the digital lcd meter by mileage.

Please do not top up petrol too full, main reason >

the level of the fuel tank is higher than the level of the fuel floater, whenever you top up too full > fuel floater O-ring wear and tear (fuel leaking whenever you park side stand)

The O-ring leaking is cause by heat and pressure inside the fuel tank because that's the weakness point.

Average mileage for X9 is about 330km, but ofcourse it depend how you ride, some maybe able to hit 400km some may not.

rider and pillion weight may have different, but is still depend on how you ride.

Example Rider riding style >

. Slow pick up > Rpm below 5k. seldom hard braking > throttle free from some distance before to a traffic stop. Always maintein SMOOTH ride.

. fast pick up > Rpm about 7k (always no. 1 to move of from stop). Alway brake & brake > From far see Red light also never slow down. Fast and furious Rider.

I had my Nemo X9 Full mod., i ever try >

1 full tank at 360km Riding style

1 full tank at 180km Riding style

Hopefully you understand the different by now.

What may be the cause of bad fuel consumption >

Let's Start from basic checking >

1. Fuel hose ( it can be easy spotted if it is leaking whenever you top up petrol )

2. Air-filter ( check whelter is it dirty.) And yes, dirty air-filter may cause high fuel consumption.

3. Tyres pressure front 210 rear 240

4. CVT Transmission (check whelter is it using the collect belt and rollers) There is cases some bike shop use a 2 stroke belt on 4 stroke scooter.

5. Carb ( need service )

6. if still the same...... Check the plug ( If the plug is very black and wet even you change new plug ) PLus There's white smoke coming out from exhaust pipe >>>> i think you need to do a top overhual to clear all the carbon on the intake valve and piston > Reason - Too much Carbon may cause leakage at the valve intake and that might be the final reason why your fuel comsumption high.

For those who have good FC, i recommend you to use the OWS 3 in 1 product >

The Engine Flush, The Engine Protector and the Injector fuel system Cleaner, This product may help you to clear carbon, it may help you to maintain your FC

Hope the informations help, if you need any further informations or not very sure, you may also call me, i will try my best to help.

X9ers, pls add your informations if i miss out anything, cheers.

1. On the part of not pumping the petrol to the brim - how would a X9 rider know how full is full? For me, I usually peer into the tank, shake a bit. If the reflection is very obivous, then it is full. However, when I turn on the bike, the fuel meter only indicate at top 3 bar-marking. Qns: does that mean I've top up too full?

2. On the OWS 3-in-1, where can this additive be bought?

Hi fellow X9 riders,

I've owned my X9 Amalfi (FV plate) two months ago. Am a noob to scooters. Took over from an uncle as 2nd owner.

Y'day I checked the engine oil and to my surprise, the level has dropped to minimal mark on the dip stick. So far, I've traveled about 2,000KM on my X9. I did not check the EO on taking over ownership though.

Do you guys do usually top-up the EO?

Another "symptom" I noticed about my X9:

So far, I have ridden my X9 in rain twice. The first occasion, I rode through heavy rain to my office. While turning into carpark a low speak, the engine suddenly went low RPM to near stall. I've to throttle more to keep it firing. When I'm done with work at the end of the day, I fire up the engine and rode off. On the first traffic junction where I came to a stop, the engine stalled. I have to press the start button many times before it cranked and move off. It happened several times that same evening. To prevent from stalling, I kept rev the RPM to "move-off" point i.e. about 3,000RPM.

Another thing is, I kept hearing a "roaring" sound during move off. Seems to come from the left side of the engine. Then, the pick-up of the scooter slacked. It is as if the belt or something is not "gripping" well.

What I did to rectify the above two symptoms? Nothing - I juz keep riding every day hoping it'll not stall. The roaring sound went away gradually. There is no drop in my fuel consumption.

2nd occasion where I rode in the rain. This time the rain was light. My X9 did not stall this time, but the "roaring" sound could still be heard. It went away on its own and performance.

Any of you has encountered these before? It looks to me that my X9 engine is not "water proof" or something like that.

Thanks :)

My post on page 12.

at the transmission cover, ther is a black colour hose, is it connect to the transmission cover?

Yes it is connected. It is that large flat black rubber tubing right?

Updates:

It rain today in the afternoon. When the rain got lighter, I rode my X9.

After a while, my X9 stalled when I was about to move off a traffic junction. I managed to start it from the button and moved off. However, there was a lost of power and the scooter tends to stall when I reduce throttling to slow down. Fortunately, I was reaching my destination.

Ref to my first post, I guess somewhere in my X9 engine is not waterproof. Does anyone come across or heard of this problem? Any advise?? (other than bringing the scooter to the motor shop)

1. when at petrol koisk, insert fully, just pump until it stop at high speed (fully trigger), than slow speed (half trigger) stop again is good enough. I dun get your Question?

2. You can buy at authorise workshop, Futurecsootering do carry.

why not meet up and let me take a look? some testing need to be done. to mentions everythings by details will make you more confuse  BTW, this problem got nothing to do with your engine, so not to worry.

Thanks - but last time I tried full-trigger, the petrol over flowed without auto-stop. Did that twice at same pump. Perhaps the pump sensor not functioning well.

After an hour or so, I started the bike again and the engine went well and smooth. Will try to monitor the performance. Probably will avoid riding in rain :cheeky:
