Hello to all. I just bought X9 Amalfi. Rode for 1 day and found it quite hard to steer. I read through the forum and realised it might be a steering cone problem as there is a click at the centre when I turn it!

Now I'm worried if there are any other problems (as I'm very new to biking). The bike shop I buy from don't really provide much information on the bike and they are not specialized in scooters.

Any advice for me from the Shifus here? Appreciate all help and advice! :)

Hi Guys,

I am new piaggio evo X9 rider (used bike). My bike front and back light not working. Contacted previous bike owner regular workshop. The mechanic said could be relay or fuse cable problem. Any idea how much it cost to rectify such problem? Any good piaggio workshop open on sunday? If worse come to worse to replace the switch, what is the estimated cost?

Kelvin

Good evening to all,

Went to Botak today and confirmed steering cone problem. On top of this I requested him open up and check my belt etc (as I do not trust the shop who sold me the bike). Lucky botak help me check and discovered the rollers (all except one) were put wrong way and belt, rollers etc all non-original. In the end decided to replace all and change noisy clutch (to 2nd hand one). I sat there and watch him dismantle everything piece by piece wash and relub.

It's simply amazing how meticulous this guy works. Now I can ride my x9 with confidence! Total damage done is quite high but definitely worth it! Rather spend now then wait till spoil repair cost will be worse...

Definitely will re-visit Botak for any future issues/maintenance etc.. Thanks Firestorm_33 for recommendation! :)

bro, glad that your problems are resolved..... anyway u will realise that his pricing is more of reasonable than high as mentioned before, he do not take in spare parts in bulk hence unable to give much discount but his workmanship is definitely one of the best around :)

Good afternoon to all,

Yesterday was 4th day riding my X9... I was travelling to gf place and just before parking I realised that my temp gauge was at 3/4 mark (abit more to red zone). I was surprised as the distance travelled only about 8.5km. I read through the forum and identified some possible causes:

1. Radiator dirty

2. Water pump spoilt

3. Temp thermometer spoilt

The radiator was filled with water but not coolant. Is this also a possible cause?

Calling all Shifus to advice how to check each of the above item? Any advice / opinions welcome! Thanks! :)

Normally our temo should reach about half mark or slighly below half mark.

But sometime due to jam or slow moving, the temp will reach about 3/4 mark or above.

Try wash the rad or flush the coolant to have a better result.

If water pump break down, you temp will shoot up within few mins and hit red.

Maybe you can try >

1. open the coolant CAP, see whelter is it dirty or oily inside or not.

2. try to flush it and replace with coolant water. Normal tap water is not good for the system, get it done ASAP before anything get worst, cheers.

Hi all X9 Kakis,

Just got my X9 and went to pump tyre today. I had pump 36 for the front and 42 for the rear. Is that too much?

Also, I noticed that the right side of my front rotor is hot but the left isn't. Aren't they supposed to be both warm after I have used the front brakes.

Maybe some senior bro here can help. Is my front brakes malfunctioning or is that normal.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Can your front wheel spin freely when off the ground?

If not, your right caliper is jam and require to do a clean up.

this is due to brake dust. Just blow and clean the caliper can already.

Best is take out the caliper and slowly do.....

Anything, you can visit botak @ Wonderful motor.

He open till 10pm or later....

no problem for the belt at all, but do remember to check out the rollers. I believe if the rollers will keeping on last until 15k, it will worn out the variator.

For local weather, front 210, rear 240 is good enough.

Ask you a question, do you always apply the right hand brake?

Right hand Brake = for slow down use = only front right caliper activate

Left hand brake = for true braking = Front left 30% and Rear 70% caliper activate at the same time.

As long as if you can roll the front tyre without Jam, it shouldn't have any problem, if you still got Question, feel free to post, cheers.

hey dude,i've changed to original kevlar belt 3 times already and each time it can bring me safely to 17k.

Have been riding X9 since Jan this year and though parts may be expensive, it is a ride unlike other bikes-smooth,stable and more importantly, comfortable.

Have tried after market belt once (cant recall which brand but it is made in Italy) and the belt CHIPPED after only 6k.

Originals keep you safe. Just to save a few bucks you risk your life? Not worth.

Shouldn't cost you more than $90 for original belt. Hope this tip is useful.'

Cheers~!
