Hi guys! I've been riding for about 2 years now on a pulsar and am interested to change my bike to a maxi-scooter. Just wanna ask for some general advice on maxi-scooters.

 

How different do the levers work on maxi-scooters as compared to normal bikes?

Fuel consumption?

Is lane-splitting manageable?

Usual servicing requirements/cost?

How is the top speed and general handling issues?

 

also, how does the x9 compare to the other maxi-scooters (x8, etc.) I've no 2A license so i wld like to know what 2B maxi-scooters are available for me to choose from.

Bro,really depends on what type of scooter re u lookin for...whether on bigger storage...x9 would fit e bill..x8 is ok as well..,,lane splitin still manageble....for top speed its ok as well if ure lookin at 110-120...depends on how u wld like to change some parts of e transmisson side...then u can gain more either on acceleration or top speed...

If ure lookin for cheaper maintainance then u might wanna try and look for taiwan maxi scoot like gts 200 but power compare to italian bike are no where e same...cos of e materials...as i hv once own a sym before...e wear and tear much higher if u stress e bike often...but for italy bikes can last much more but replaxin e parts can be quite ex compare to ur bajaj...

I already did that. My X9 200cc side mirrors broke on right side. So I replaced with 180/500cc mirrors and switched location of the signal lights to next to headlights. :-)

Went to scrap yard to find the lights and mirrors. Self spray the mirrors cos a little dull due to age. Use black 29 paint.

Each mirror $10.

Each indicator light plus reflector and bulb $10

Need a little extension of wiring cos the wire from side mirror not long enough to go all the way down.

 

Went to future scootering to do. labour charge $25.

 

total damage $65.

 

I also have spare left mirror glossy paint and a spare windshield if anyone wants to replace theirs.

My old X9 200cc mirrors can be repaired. But sadly no time to do it now.

Hi, I am a newbie in this forum. I have been riding Amalfi for about a yr and now this bike has some problems, water pump leaked and now totally cannot start. Coe expiring in feb/13, dunno whether to repair and carry on or scrap it. Any bikers out there can advise me on the cost of repair?

Change ur water pump...140 for e mechanical pump...for electric pump abit ex ard 240.....shd change ur thermostat 70....change ur temp switch as well....65....shd be gd to go....might wanna change this as if u dont might cos damage to ur engine block...for e startin of ur bike might wanna look at ur batt and rectifier...is it in gd condition?if it is...then u might wanna check ur magnet coil and stater gear...if not maybe ur starter carbon finish alrd...if u hv any more question u can whats app me at 98636823...cos me and other fellow x9 riders got group chat at what app...as u can see tt this forum quiet slow....if u join e group chat theres new topic everyday....if u want i can add u to e group chat...cheers bro....

Up to u bro...on whether which shop u wanna go to...it all depends on individual preference....u can also try and source out frm other riders,at e end of e day its ur decision and money....we can only help u frm e forum...u hv to go down to e wkshp and experience it urself...cheers bro...

Ai de hua pte ltd...its at genting lane...e sole agent of piaggio...its three storey building...its got a big piaggio logo on e building...e whole buildin is piaggio...its a showroom as well....u cant miss it.

Got it done up at Botak's shop for 400 bucks. Replaced with used pump plus coolent -150, used magnetic coil and starter relay - 250.

E lcd meter can try at scrapyard at sg kadut st 3....taihin located at kaki bukit rd 2....i cant remember exactly cos..i wld just head down since i frquently go there.
