guys, i need help to see if i can do something about my case.

On wed, i was on my to camp when i was going through a sharp bend. This bend is the one entering ECP(CTE) from PIE. For those who know, its the one closest to the airport. Anyway, i WAS going through the bend at a good speed of 50km/h. As i was conering, a small branch fell, directly in front of my bike. As i was already in a bend position, obviously i could do nothing to avoid the b ranch. Within a few sec from when the brancvh fell, i felt my back wheel slip, and i skidded. What happen next, i was not too sure, b ut all i saw amidst the sparks and all was my beloved FZ6 resting on a curb, all broken and dent, and me lying a distance in front. Now, my left palm was swollen to double its size, andwith all my road burns i had to go to the hospital.

Had to do a freaking surgery, cause my thumb bone was both fractured and dislocated. 3 wires were inserted, and now i'm kinda half invalid.

The thing that i want to ask is, will i still be fined 200, plus 6 demerit points?

Also, anyway can i approach NEA to sort this matter out? I mean, i would not have skiddded if it were'nt for that freaking branch.

Any way i could get to cover the repairs of my bike, which i presume would cost me a bomb?

Any help is sincerely appreciated...

Thanks alot...

Claim from NEA for a fallen branch? Sorry bro, I think you'll be better off taking this lesson as pure bad luck.

ok...so no one has done it before? how abt wit LTA?

I'm only planning on doing this if the TP decides to penalise me.. Maybe i cld see the MP?

I have seen people claim against LTA and succeed for metal plates covering underground construction. But that is much more straightforward than your case, which is not easy at all.

Sorry Bro, believe you can't claim from NParks. It's was in the news 2 years back. same thing happens to a car. It's consider "natural disaster". Unless you can prove that NPark knew that the branch is going to break/fall and they did not do anything to prevent it such as saw it off.

That's why there is an option for comprehensive (or first party) insurance.

well, from what i was told, one cant claim damages for self skid, or else i'm mistaken. tried to claim once, but to no avail.

Get the bike repaired at HL. Prob gotta wait at least a month to get the parts from Japan. Go see them for a quote. Based on how you described your accident prepare to spend about 1K to 3K for the repairs... which I think is reasonable depending on what needs to be changed and if the bike is still road worthy.

Hope you recover soon...

Claim from NParks..definitely cannot. However if you get a fine letter from Nparks or LTA if you had destroyed any railing, lampposts or tree, you can appeal through MP stating your "natural disaster" case.
