A bike, at least a wave is a luxury for NSF. It is a very very important transport tool especially if you are a stay in personnel. And you get night's off on alternate nights. Having a bike will save a lot of time spent on transport. And very importantly, reduce your chances of being late due if you do not procrastinate.

Therefore... sell off my bike during NS days, OVER MY DEAD BODY!!!

Perhaps if I am financially tight during those days, downgrading is an option.

if ur camp is nearby at ur hse.

maybe can sell the bike away loh.

but if you are staying at west. and ur camp is at east.

no joke sia. everytime travel mrt will die.

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Good thread, I am contemplating whether or not to sell off my Super4 when I enlist.

Bike will be way underused if I am only able to go home during weekends, and the insurance and road tax spent will not be justified by the only few days which I can ride.

It might even be cheaper to take taxi to camp and back home considering the maintenance cost of the Class2A bike.

Hmm...

It all depends on individual...

For me... When in NS i bought my bike :cheeky:

Taking Public needs me to wake up at 6am...

But by bike... 7am.. :cheeky:

And can go riding with NS mates...

If ur installment is too much for yr pay in NS...

trying reasoning out with ur shop... Im sure they will be glad to assist...

During BMT, you may sell your bike, but after that..I think you'll find that having a bike is useful...

In fact, if your training camp is at a faraway place, it is advisable to have a bike, even if you only get to use it during weekends. But see what kinda bike la..don't tell me R1 la...wave or similar likes is ok...preferably 2nd hand...

Not installment, of course there will still be maintenance if bike is seldom ridden as there will be parts which degrades over time. Tyres, EO etc. Plus the compulsory annual cost like road tax and insurance which are not cheap.
